My 2019 TRD OR 4x4 does the same crap can’t even begin to set cruise on interstate . I love the truck. It’s my 1st and last Toyota if this can’t be truly disabled . If you turn it completely off it will still do the same SH#T!!

PS don’t need someone to tell me to trade it in on used truck . That is nonsense . It’s a great riding good looking truck. But I don’t need the Japanese controlling my driving . It really is impossible to set cruise and maintain speed on highway or interstate . If I would have test drive on highway or interstate it wouldn’t be at my house.

I agree . It does have warranty and 2800 miles they will fix it or keep it ! Only problem is I’ve put about 2k in it already.

Nah. Probably a software issue. I had trouble with my Entune shutting off randomly and at 5k checkup they updated and fixed it.
Give the service writer all your issues for them to check.

When setting the cruise control, push and hold the tab in and it will show a symbol without the radar.

Did part of that $2K include a lift, or a custom grill? If so, maybe it needs to be recalibrated.

I don't believe it still brakes after you turn it completely off.

To make it stay off when you shut the truck off, you'll need to use Techstream:

It’s pretty easy to turn off guys . I’m not a mechanic but I pretty handy in the shop I understand how to turn it off . I do all my on mods to my vehicles . I put headers and full exhaust on my 2012 corvette. Installed 3x2 lift, S&B CAI ,Magnaflow exhaust and air lift airbags on this Tacoma. It this system doesn’t work correctly and needs to be takin to shop . But the Toyota place where I live is horrible!! At service.

Kind of an odd thread... Your first post seems like it’s a response to a conversation nobody was a part of.

Hate to say it, but that 3 inch lift is probably your problem... the system is very sensitive to lifts, its calibrated to the stock ride height. If the sensor is all of a sudden 3 inches higher than it thinks it should be then its going to cause a problem.

Also, toyota wont fix the system if you lifted the truck, mainly because the lift is whats causing the issue. You may be able to get them to recalibrate it, but you'll probably have to pay for it.

Especially if there is no rake, I would assume.

This is the whiniest thread I've seen in awhile. You love it but it's crap. You can't get a single problem fixed at one dealer so you choose to complain instead of going to another.

    It's under warranty.

Yes and no, take it to the dealer and ask them to turn it off. They are turning off systems on the 2018 for the tss recall if you have a lift or aftermarket grill. So it is possible for the dealer to turn it off, its just a matter of if they will turn it off for you.

Ignore the people who like to complain about other people complaining. Its part of the 3rd gen forums... half the people think trucks should be dented and covered in scratches, the other half want their trucks to look nice and work correctly.
