Tpms for new rims

Hey guys new to the tacomaworld forum and was hoping I could get your guys help. I just picked up fuel vector rims and nitto ridge grapplers today. Was planning to get them mounted and balanced until I arrived at toyota and told me that the toyota tpms might not fit properly in my new rims. They also didnt want to be held liable for any leakage from the tpms so they didnt want to do it either. Has anyone swapped there tpms from their stock rims into Fuel Vectors without a problem? Or know any aftermarket tpms I can buy? Pretty pissed off but I want to make sure I get the tpms properly installed without having leaks.

 

As far as I know as long as you have alloy wheels and the new wheels are alloy they should transfer no problem.

Your profile says you have a sport so you should be good to go.

When swapping existing sensors to another wheel they usually replace the o-rings on the valve stem to prevent leaks.

 

Thanks a lot for the replies really appreciate it. I finally spoke to someone who wasnt a complete idiot and ive got an appointment booked with north shore offroad. They told me that theyve swapped tons of sensors and if it doesnt want to fit properly we can find aftermarket ones that will.
They were super knowledgable and very helpful. I really hate dealing with dealerships and the prices are stupid. Long story short, next wednesday im getting my new tires and rims mounted!

Tpms swap from stock rims with no problems and if youre wondering if you can fit 32's without a lift and have no rubbing, you can! Mine are 265/70r17

Can you post a side shot of the poke of the tires? Looking at going with the same size wheels and tires, just a -6 offset wheel instead of the +7

Its pretty much flush, sticks out just a tad bit. Also just incase you don't know, someone on tacomaworld told me that positive offset pushes the tire in towards the UCA, negative pushes out which normally causes rubbing on the cab mount. So make sure you've got the right size tires or lift so you don't rub anywhere! Btw online pictures don't do these rim's justice, I didn't have the money to afford SCS ray10's so these were the best alternative I could find for a much cheaper price and I'm really glad I went with them. Looks awesome in person.

 

Yeah I’m familiar with offset, I’m not really worried about hitting the cab mount with the -6 offset, more worried about trimming the mud flaps and heating the inner fender liner to push it back in some. Just wanted to see what kind of stance those wheels had because the -6’s will net around a half in more poke than the +7’s. Thanks for the pictures
