100 factors would be in play to give you a honest reply to your question on that. Lease terms, payments , cash down amount, mileage limits etc etc etc etc etc.

 

I gotcha. I've been doing some research on it, and everything I read said that if you buy the truck when the lease is up, mileage, mods, etc, dont matter. I've been considering this option to get into a new truck, because of the lower initial payments, then buy the truck after the lease is up. I know it's the truck I want.

 

Mileage limits are what kills it for me as I put 20k+ miles a year on mine, it just doesn't work to turn a truck in if you are way over the mileage

 

The ONLY people I personally know who benefit from a lease. Employees at SOME car dealerships that don’t have a far commute to work. A ex of mine is way up in BMW ranks. She’d lease a crazy expensive car for like $250/month from BMW every 2 years with like no cash down. She made out good because we all know what happens to a BMW at 100k miles............. They get tossed in the trash. Lolololololol

 

If you can afford to buy the truck in 3 years, why can't you just finance it now since you know it's the truck you want

 

See, sounds like to me you’re more concerned about the monthly payments being low. First and foremost, if a payment on a new truck makes you worry............. You should find a cheaper truck. Please don’t ever become a slave to a truck payment. 2nd......... If you go over your mileage limit in a lease you can really get fcked hard with overcharges. Add up your rent or mortgage and then add all other bills too. Phone , utilities etc etc. Do NOT go over 40% of your gross income.

 

Well I make good money when I work but it depends on how much work my company has. I'll prob clear 50k this year after taxes and I haven't worked alot at all, some years I make almost 100k. I'm caught up on all my bills and my house payment is very cheap. All my bills are around 800 and that's really rounding up. The reason I prefer a lower payment is because sometime work gets really slow and a lower note would be easier to manage. I've been off work since may and don't go back to work till next week. So its times like these when a lower note makes me feel more financially secure.

 

I am considering buying a 2019 TRD OR DCSB 4x4 AT in black with the tech package. Sent out several emails and the lowest has been $33,799 before taxes. MSRP is $38,958.

Picked up a 19 Limited a few months ago for right at $38k before TTL. I negotiated for predator tube steps, blackout package (tailgate inserts and black emblems), and a grille swap for black SR5 grille (they wouldn’t do Pro grille because of DRCC sensor) all for “free.”

I’m happy.

 

Im leasing mine and the one reason i did it because of the low payments. Currently trying to pay off another loan also and after that is done, i could try and buy it off maybe in the next 3 yrs or so. Its also a vehicle im planning to keep for a long time. My first car when i was 17 i leased it too. Kept it for 13 yrs till i sold it . I think it depends on what your plan is for the vehicle.

 

If you want to lease, then lease. Your posts continue to come back full circle on that idea, while it's about the dumbest thing you can do with money other than light it on fire feel free to do as you please but for the love of God please stop with this conjecture. Buying out a vehicle when your lease expires does not make leasing more financially responsible, quite the opposite in reality.

 

Yea, will prob do it this week. I still have my 07 TRD OR Access Cab with nearly 300,000 miles, but I need the extra space that the DC has.

 

2019 white trd pro. $41,000 even. It was the only one they would bargain with because they had on the lot the longest.

 

That’s tempting. My dealer has a few of these but still has them priced over MSRP.

No desert intake unfortunately but I am hoping that will be one of my first mods. It has just grown on me I hated it at first. Just as pictured below but it was only about $1500 more than msrp for an OR. Had to do it
