Even with fresh 93 out of the pump, the riding mower runs better on ethanol free gas from a can. If I could afford to I would run it in my truck but it's $$$. The yard equipment doesn't use that much so it's not so bad.

But yes, the water attraction is an issue when the gas sits in carb bowls. It fouls up way faster with corn juice in the gas than none. That was why I switched over my small engines. It got to the point that I had to clean carbs every year on everything even with fuel stabilizer. I tried emptying the tanks and running them dry, but not everything I have is easy to do that on.

I actually just had to replace the carb on my new-to-me riding mower because the old one was just too far gone. I tried cleaning it out, but the main jet threads were so oxidized and crapped up I couldn't get it apart to really clean it. Engine kept running lean and surging no matter what I did. Whoever had it before me likely never emptied or treated the gas. I put a low pressure electric pump on it and a shutoff. The pump is actually connected to the light circuit, so when the engine is running with the "lights" off, I can run it dry.

    ^^This for sure^^
That sucks about the availability and price of corn-free gas. Where do you live if you don't mind me asking? Here in Fla, the ethanol-free is about $3.09/gal. Premium 93 10% is about $3.06. Maybe I should try it.

    Connecticut. 87 has been around $2.40, 93 is usually around $0.60 more/gal. I'd pay $3.09 (for corn free 87?).

I may be wrong but I think most if not all ethanol free is blended to 89 octane.
Edit: it was even in NM at 5000 feet elevation.

I have a little over 1,000 miles on the lastest beta tune. 2017 04B04 auto, stock tires and everything. The only complaints that I have is over the past 100 miles or so, it seem to shift from 2nd to 3rd very quickly or prematurely, even with ECT on. Anyone else experience this? Also, ECT seems very flat now, maybe it’s just me. I have also sent this to the zen desk.

I just switched back to the 2nd 2.0 Beta GL instead of staying with then 3rd 2.0 Beta. If I was previously using 93 octane, load new firmware while continuing running 93 octane and both firmware have OLE, does the ECU still have to relearn everything again, or does it transition from the previously learned values? The reason I ask is because the 2nd 2.0 Beta instantly felt like it has more power compared to the 3rd 2.0 Beta on the first test drive. I thought it might take a while to relearn that I have 93 octane in the tank.

I’ve been an echo guy for years. Always bought the entry level commercial grade stuff rather than residential. All this ethanol crap has me seriously considering the new 52V electric stuff.

Fo sho'! Echo guy myself now. No more husky's. Only 2 stroke I ever had that I can get to fire on the first pull with some creative choke manipulation!

So no one has tried ethanol free fuel with any recent tunes? Imma try it I think. Interested to see how OLE handles it. I can only get 89 here in Jax.
@OVTune any data on benefit from corn-free gas? I assume the knock sensor feedback would quickly adapt.

Kicking myself for not trying it today.. I did a 350 mile trip, hauling a trailer full of furniture for my daughter in college.. And only now looked to see that I passed a half-dozen ethanol-free stations on the trip.
