My 2016 is rusting in the door sills. Not a spot on the frame or even exhaust (thanks fluid film and tw) and Toyota says too bad. They have a tsb, but it was not put out till my truck was out of warranty by 3 months. What the heck Toyota. $1200 to fix and that's only the drivers sill. Called and started a case. Would not answer questions and said no assistance will be offered.

Check your sills everyone and get them checked asap! They have been real jerks about it.

I am about 6 payments away from paying off. Now what, trade it to the same dealer that knows it's faults, sell it to some sucker, or let it rust from the inside out? Really contemplating my next actions. Previous two Toyotas I bought I kept 10-12 years with no issues. Well a bad o2 sensor, but that's acceptable.

    Rust is not acceptable.

Pictures might help. Also what region of the country are you in?

I'll clean it up and take pictures later. Put a nice coat of oil on it. In the midwest, Iowa winters are rough. Muffler is usually first to rust. Probably shouldn't fluid film the exhaust due to heat, but so far no issues.

Must be rusted through, like a hole.
