Curious: Why do people still black out license plates when posting pics of their vehicles?

If you see a plate while out driving, you have to remember it or write it down, then look it up when you get home - unless of course you're the asshole who hops on the smartphone while driving to do so.
Sitting in your mom's basement eating Doritos, all that information is right at your fingertips. Why make it so easy when it's foolish and unnecessary?

long before fedex changed it's corporate shipping policies a scammer tried to get a set of Fikse FM-10's I was selling. I loaded a small crate with some lead plates we had at work and sent it with the account number they provided. Fedex Overnight to England. Box had to weight 150 lbs.
