My TRD sport was cheaper than a sr 4x4 v6. Cheaper than a off-road, and definitely cheaper than a pro
That’s why I laugh everyday. The cash saved. Plus the main reason I can’t stand them is the circus like/hipster interior.
    1E8FE7A7-90FC-41CD-9CE0-573CAFBA931C.jpg
Who’s in charge of interior on the sr5?
It’s like they think it’s a clown car. It’s like my wife was watching HGTV and saying that needs a accent door. No! No it doesn’t! Please, a solid black interior!

The only Tacoma owners ever to hear shit? It’s sport owners. Always something. Oh well I’m the guy that fell in love with Toyota trucks long before they slapped a name “Tacoma” on it.378FC479-4E81-4ED6-B23B-62752AB8E71E.jpg

(Yes the front grill on the 1989 came standard.)
I’ll be driving one long after they change em again.

Why would you think an Off Road benifit from larger wheels, the bigger the wheel the less the tire sidewall.

Suspension is good on Highway, makes the truck feel more planted and gives good feedback in your steering wheel. Truck also has less body roll in turns.

I admit I know nothing about riding off road, and quite frankly, I don't understand the appeal of taking an almost $40,000 truck off road and risking messing it up. But, I was only looking at the logic of bigger wheels, mean that it rides a little higher off the road. That is what I was thinking...

One would think it works that way but it doesn't. You can get 16" tires that are just as large in diameter as 17's. Difference is there is more side wall on the 16's so a bit softer ride especially on rough roads. 17's on the other hand afford you a larger selection of tires.

They stay the same height but lose sidewall.

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
Because I liked it better. I don't care for black wheel well trim or the funky interior colors I found on the other models. Since I don't wheel, my 4x4 is for pulling boats out, I like the road ride better. Still pondering how to make scoop functional like my past muscle cars.

I got the sport because of the painted front bumper and fender flares. I had a XE frontier and the black plastic bumpers and fender flares just look like crap after being in the Hawaii sun for a few years. Thats the part of the Frontier i hated the most so when I saw the OR, it wasnt even a consideration. Honestly though, if the Tacoma didnt have push to start, i wouldnt have bought one, i would have kept driving the Frontier. The thing i miss most about the Frontier is, i could give a crap where i parked it. Compact Stall, perfect for my Compact Truck! Now i gotta park in the back of the parking lot.

No push button start is a dealbreaker? Really? Turning the key is that difficult?

Pretty much. I know its not hard to turn a key, but i hardly drove my Frontier and I hardly drive the Tacoma but liked the fact that it had push to start like my wifes Lexus. If it wasn't for the PTS, i would have just kept driving the Frontier. I don’t regret buying the Tacoma, but I wouldnt have even considered buying a new truck if it didnt have that. I looked into an aftermarket PTS for the Frontier, but bought the Taco before i even had a chance to get it installed. If my wife had known I would be spending alot of $$ on mods because of TW, she definitely wouldnt have agreed to replace the Fronty.

That's a shit ton of money. Dont think id spend tens of thousands of dollars for push button start.

The majority of reviews and friends who run Bilsteins are positive. You have to feel the ride to appreciate it as I posted and are welcome to ride along with me. Send me a PM.

After watching my brother's OEM Toyota Bilstein shocks on his Tundra completely crap in very short order, I am wondering if their aftermarket shocks are all that great. Maybe legendary.
