@TRDProOne I can only guess it's so that they could squeeze in the price for the access cab. I'm sure there would have been a larger price jump had the Tacoma PRO also offered the same (double and access cab).

That's right. If you live in Hawaii, specifically Maui, there will be no negotiating. It's amazing to me that just a few years ago they added $2000 to the MSRP! I tried to "negotiate" with them last year and was turned down. They stated that very fact, "we used to add $2000 to the MSRP but no more." That was their excuse to not have to negotiate. Crooks, I tell ya! I looked into purchasing it from the mainland but the hassles that go with this type of purchase are long. The problem is there's no competition here, and they take full advantage of it.

I live on the BI and I'm trying to work out the best way to buy my 2020. Dealer is saying January/February for delivery. At least here they do the Costco deal...

Yep, a Rubicon you'd want to buy starts at 50k IMHO.

I always thought the Pro should come with a better set of tires.

Indeed. Starting prices on Wrangler/Gladiator exclude navigation, tow package, leather seats and a hardtop, all of which are standard on TRD Pro. Those things alone add about $5,000 to Rubicon’s MSRP.

Just because I was curious, this is a comparable Gladiator Rubicon to a 2019 TRD Pro.

    $54,620 MSRP

    https://www.jeep.com/bmo.gladiator....LP,AD6,AJ1,ABR,CWA,RC4,CMD,GXD,X9,PE4,24R,APA

Standard Taco features that are options on the Gladiator:
    Premium Nav/Stereo
    Leather Seats
    Tow package
    LED lighting
    Floor mats
    BSM
    Adaptive Cruise
    Remote proximity keyless entry
    Bed cargo management

Now you do get two lockers, a 4:1 tcase, a solid front axle, ability to easily run 37s, an engine and trans that murders the taco, blah blah blah with the Jeep. But still, what is that 10k more?

What you get for an extra $10k is a bargain IMO vs the Tacoma. Just look at the price premium between a Pro and an OR. Many people scoff at the Pro because it costs thousands more for mostly cosmetic upgrades. But yeah I know, Heep.

Not in my world. I have money and A+ credit and still would never pay MSRP for anything.

As the top Tacoma, TRD Pro needs to offer something a little more convincing.

Yes, I know, production is limited and prices transact close to MSRP. But still, a “halo” vehicle like Pro needs more serious hardware than a fancy grille, embroidered headrests and a shiny exhaust tip.

The jokes won’t stop until Toyota gets serious.
