I wanted to run a similar setup but didn’t know if it was possible. Thanks

I’ve got the me too set up.

What products can I use to get the tires black again? They’ve gotten the golden brown color from various dirt and brake dust. Tried Greased lightning but didn’t seem to help very much.

Also a good form of tire wet? I like to pretty the truck up every now and again and I was told to avoid the spray on but the sponge type applicators suck for the aggressive sidewall.

All tires turn brown whether or not you off road. Its the nature of the rubber compound expelling chemicals over time. You can try a wheel and tire cleaner - it'll foam up nice and visually you'll be excited to see all that brown foam running off the tires but DO NOT be fooled - you're tires won't return to their new appearance. You'll just get some of the surface contaminants off and therefore you have to use a tire shine - here's a top tip:
    • Get a spray on tire shine from Mother's or Meguiar's, doesn't matter (I agree on the gels not getting into the aggressive parts of an A/T sidewall).
    • Spray it on as you normally would.
    • Then, go back over with a microfiber towel and wipe the entire face of the tire. You may need to work a few areas a bit more than others, but overall this should be a fairly straightforward exercise.
    • Not only will this remove any areas where you went a bit heavy/light and help with a more uniform look, but it will also promote a more matte black and organic appearance.

Brake Buster and a Tuff shine brush for wheels and rubber. Spray, scrub rinse several times and that brown will clean right up. I use AMMO Mudd for tire shine, but Carpro Perl works great, too. I use Adam's foam applicators for the tire shine, but you're right. Kind of a PITA with even a mildly aggresive AT tire to apply.

Nothing special, but I’m pretty excited about this setup. TRD Off Road purchased with Southeast Toyota optioned Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac All-Terrain 265/70R16 tires.

That’s a good looking tire and whee size. What’s your lift and how much trimming did you do?

3” lift and a TON of cutting, trimming and BFH’ing. Still need to cut more off front flares. Was rubbing in this picture.
