Curious: Why do people still black out license plates when posting pics of their vehicles?

They fuckin can be. For the right price.

 

I usually blank it out because once it's on the internet you never know where it'll end up. With the state of internet security these days, the less info you put out, the better.

And it's fun to Photoshop it into 80085 anyway

 

lol of course it does, custom vehicles in rare colors are not anonymous.

When people see my truck they immediately know its me, if I was driving a silver stock SR5 they would not.

You nerds only think turning off location services on your phone/its apps, using a VPN, not using any "legal" info online anywhere, and not posting your plates actually "works". There is no anonymity unless you never got a smart device or posted online, ever, since your conception and lived in a cave and stayed there til death. You can decrease your footprint, but it NEVER goes away. Just quit sending nice girls pics of your cheeto dick and the world will be a better place.

 

Even for the lazy, if you had to choose which would be easier??

#1. I give you the neighborhood they live in and pictures of their extremely unique vehicle

#2. I give you just the license plate # and thats it.

If someone wanted to find me they could literally drive around my neighborhood and eventually they'll see my bright ass truck, from like a mile away.

If they ONLY had the plate # they'd have to stop and look at EVERY car until one matches, and they wouldn't even know what neighborhood to look in, they'd MAYBE be able to figure out which city, and I live in a city with millions of people.

Which is why I said my custom truck is way more identifiable than a license plate.

No...I’m not going to do that. My point was that if anybody was that confident in plates not providing any info, post em here, so that the stalkers had a nice easy reference.

But. That I’ve seen your pics, I can easily deduce your basic area and could drop onto university ave on my bike and find you. When I do, I’ll expect that 20. You can take me to Dao Son If it’s still there.
