These little jobbers showed up today. I haven’t opened them but I like the look of them. Dual battery system incoming!

Took her up in the hills for the first time! No camping (paint still off-gassing something fierce). So far so good!

Found out that the air is flowing just right around the camper to float the rubber bed mat out from under it. I’ll have to figure out a way to hold that in place.

It’s so awesome to see that thing actually out in the open!

How does the truck handle with it now?

Truck handles pretty well. Definitely more lean in the corners but not terrible. I mentioned earlier that I’ll probably put the front sway bar back on. That should limit that. I hate to do it though because the truck rides off road (and on road) soooo much better without it. When the buildnis finally done with underbed boxes, tools, cooking gear and all the other stuff, I’ll probably need heavier rear springs again. But we’ll see how that goes.

Truck was pretty good off road too. Felt pretty normal and road really well with that weight in the rear axle. Overall, I’m really impressed. The truck doesn’t feel terribly compromised.

I’m running the All Pro off road Expo leaf pack with the Timbren bump stops (awesome!) and a u bolt flip with basic Fox shocks. Overall it’s awesome but Im going to add enough weight, I think I’ll need more spring.

Yes, worth every penny, you’ll get exactly what you want from them, every leaf pack is handmade to your specs.

I had a set of all pro expos for 7 or so years. I also had a shackle flip for some of that time. I’m now using deaver stage 3 expedition leaf packs and an archive garage oem style shackle hanger. So much better.

Nice! When I’m all outfitted and don’t plan to add any more weight to the truck, I’ll get it weighed so I know what I’m dealing with...then new springs. I can’t imagine an off the shelf spring will work as I’ll probably be way outside the norm.

Just FYI, no major updates for a few days. We just got our deck material so we’re pushing to get a ton of work done on that. Hoping to have it finished next week...just in time for the rainy season.

Luckily things I’ve ordered are trickling in at a nice pace.

Off grid engineering aux battery tray! Sits on the passenger side of the engine bay near the firewall in a completely open chunk of space. I’m impressed with the amount of work and level of quality for the price.

    Couple things going on:
    IMG_20190909_183059.jpg
Braided wire sheath and some heat shrink showed up for the dual battery project! And I got a Google pixel 3 phone after years of iPhone usage; not sure about this Android BS. Don't know why this image is rotated...annoying.

    IMG_20190909_181014.jpg
Drilled holes in the stub wall at the foot of the bed. And another sideways picture.

    IMG_20190909_181231.jpg
Those holes will be sleeved with abs pipe. But you can't tell because the stupid picture is sideways. Ugh.
