I'm going to be driving my two fuzzy morons from Boston to Phoenix sometime this fall. In the '04 X-tra Cab, so not a lot of space. I'll probably make it a 3-day trip. I want to harness train them and have them leashed into the back seat. I hope they adjust fairly quickly.

Start taking them with you, mine crawls like an army man, does not like the leash. It does calm her down though. They find of just freeze, it is funny to watch.

As a behaviorist, I find this freaking hilarious. They say cats are trainable, and I agree they are very trainable...If the cat is willing.

Ya, I now work in a public school. When kids are struggling, I need to help figure out why they are acting/behaving the way they are. I need to figure out what their behavior is communicating. Help design and implement interventions. Or reinforce positive behaviors.

This area is continuing to grow with as the population identified with Spectrum Disorders grows. However, I do not like to work with that population, I prefer the kids with trauma backgrounds or other exceptional needs.

Sounds incredibly complicated, especially with kids who know even less about what’s causing the issues, not to mention a way to communicate it.

We did something similar in the military, except it was adults who acted like children and we just made them run A LOT when they had behavioral issues.

You’re a better man then me, seems rewarding and extremely stressful!

Been preping the cats for our move. Finally decided to put the dog crate in the back of the truck (has a shell) with bedding and a litterbox and no spill water bowl. Can't put in food since one is a food whore and on a special diet. The little one just goes catatonic with the harness after 4 months of trying to get her used to it.

Exactly, they don't know how to communicate it, so we need to read their behaviors and try to teach them how to communicate. The reward comes when the kids come back 3, 4 or more years later and you see the growth or they repeat the things you taught them. Those are the days I drink in celebration, the rest destressing drinking days.

Wow, much respect! That has got to be a tough job. I’m hoping you have a lot that come back and you see the growth and improvements.

I’ve had one from the group home days. I was standing around at the yota dealership one day, this young woman says, “excuse me, do you remember me?” I looked at her, and was like you look familiar, but I can’t remember where from. She says, “I am so glad I to see you, if it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be here today buying a new car.” Then she reminded me where, and it instantly came back.

Now it’s the kids in high school that like to come back and brag about honor roll and shit, puts a big ass smile on my face for days. When in middle school they were written off by almost everyone but me. Just cause they eat paper and snort Cheetos.

Mine know better. They get fed when I come downstairs. As soon as I make it to the kitchen they sing me the song of their people.

Got a new cat today. He was stuck in the gutter but I rescued him. Think this one’s really going to be a part of the family.
