Unlucky for me, as I think that bag fell out when they were testing the packaging system.
I plan on buying extras when I need them.

No I have not ordered a rack. I was holding out hoping you guys would bring back the Alpha or a Bravo rack with a fairing cut out that is designed to work with Herectic Studios light bar.

Is it safe to put a root top tent on top of the Alpha Tacoma Access Cab Overland Roof Rack? The description touts it has the same design philosophy as the other Alpha racks, which explicitly say they can hold a rooftop tent. I'm not implying the the Alpha rack can't hold a tent, but I'm wondering with the Alpha Rack if it's strong enough and distributes the weight well enough across the roof that the truck itself won't get damaged. For context, my RTT plus people and dog probably come to around 500 lbs. Love to get the designers' take, or anyone else's that has tried put a RTT on their Alpha Access rack.

Can it? Probably. Would I? NO. The issue with the access cab racks is they must be installed with rivnut as the factory roofs on the access cab have not factory bolts. If a rivnut is improperly installed it's rendered useless. Second to this the roof top tent is a large, awkward weight on a relatively small platform, it would probably look quite goof. Your safest bet is a bedrack or topper for mounting a RTT

Thanks for the quick response, @Doozy4212. I originally planned on going the bed rack route but need regular access to the full bed so I thought maybe your roof rack could fit my needs, guess not. Do you have any plans to develop a bed rack that is compatible with a soft topper, preferably something with quick release load bars to allow for easy folding of the topper? Love your work by the way.

Same for some Diamondback version :anonymous:
As far as I know, nobody out that way has one, so that's going to be really difficult.
Maybe its time to mock one out of wood, lol.

Unfortunately with all of these options there are a few drawbacks. One, the market for these products is fairly small, even if we are the first to do it, and have an exclusive product, that does not necessarily mean it will be a profitable venture for micah and myself.

As it specifically relates to the softopper, while @Heybud 's idea is awesome, the height of the system to fit over a softopper would need to be supported with cross bars to remain structurally rigid.

for the diamondback, unless the trusses for the bedrack go straight up, the cover will never open. unfortunately if the trusses go straight up they will stick out rather far as well and lose their strength since they are no longer sitting directly over the bed sides.

We have legitimately looked at doing all of these options but have yet to figure out something that we are happy with that is also functional
