Been there done that on camping trips, even had to use receipts once. The ridiculously long CVS receipts were actually good for something

hopefully its not from one of those regulated dispensers that only gives a few squares per pull and breaks off

Usually with single ply you can only pull one ply off at a time anyway because it's so fragile. 2 or 3 per pull is one of life's understated victories

To be honest I don’t know of any other gas suppliers here either.

You being in the bay area, I'd think you would have a ton of choices.

We've got Praxair, Barnes Welding Supplies, Airgas, ABC Fire, and a few others in my small city.

I go to a local machine shop in my little small town, like maybe $50 for a full tank if the tank is still safe.

ABC Fire supplies gas? I’ve got one down the street.

Yeah just as long as the hydro test was done within 5 years, you're good to go.

They never check the hydro when I exchange. Maybe because it’s labelled AirGas on all my cylinders.

Ours will fill up with co2, but when I had them do it, they kept my bottle for a day or two because they sent it off with multiple other cans and fire extinguishers.

I think they do the test or verify it's in date before they let a cyl go rather than worrying about the incoming one

I was told to weld with CO2 since it's cheaper.

They turned down my buddy last week; he called to tell me he couldn't get it filled up so I let him borrow my tank. He's had his 10lb Powertank for some time now...but he should have it back because Powertank will hydro test for free and send it back to you. If it doesn't pass, they'll exchange it for a brand new one.

Yeah only places that don't exchange worry about the hydro. That's why they charge more to exchange too, because theres a chance the cyl might need to be thrown out or reinspected. If you know your cyl is good it's best to just have it refilled.

You're thinking of CO, CO2 has greenhouse potential but it's extremely low, you exhale CO2

Running trails on 10 ply tires with 42psi and extra weight on a Prerunner isn't the most comfortable ride. I opt to let that air out and run 20psi until the trail ends, and then fill up with co2.

Just like you wouldn't wipe your ass with 1-ply amirite?
