A little something every chance we get.
Afternoon SATX and everyone. Had one quick coffee and went straight to the yard at 8:00! It was 79* and 99%, and grass is literally to damp to mow as thick as it is. Finished yard by 10:30, and by then it was flipped to 99* and 71%! Not much real advantage.
Watered the front plants, reloaded the truck bed, came out back to fix some drip heads in the greenhouse, and found it was the 8 port head clogged with algae! Cleaned that out, then watered all the plants out back. Three pool breaks, and then in for a shower! Can't wait for happy hour and food! (hint, not waiting for one of them!)

Well sir, I don't have the storm cloud (we have a magic Dixie cup that actually prevents most rain!), and no Pokemon. I get to water after 7 pm, on Wed and Sat. You are aware of my "sprinkly" nights - I move in overlapping patterns for 45 minutes per, gives me about 1/2" each pass, so it gets 1" per week approximately. You remember the front was all tore up last year from two tree removals, and half again this year for the gas line repair!
The main thing I did last year after the first go round was spray this on what was left of the front grass, and the new grass.

It reads like black magic, but aeration will do more for roots than almost anything you can do. I only use Winter and Spring fertilizers, mostly for seasonal weed control. Accidental benefit to cutting trees was that St. Augustine LOVES sun.
The second most important part is to cut it high(er), and make sure to cut when no more than twice the height. Which is about a week. You want to have a higher cut, so the roots stay shaded, and water that sinks below the blades evaporates less quickly. During wet June, I was needing 5 and 6 days, because of growth! Normally a week.
It's green, kind to the feet, and other than the stray blades that pop up from mowing damp, it looks like this!

Front before cut, and after cut.

I guess I am better with the grass than I am with truck mods. But look what I found fixing the greenhouse...

I am going to try this on our yard and follow up with a 28-0-0 HIGH NITROGEN spray but could not find any recommendations as to how long after it goes down. Did you see info when your were researching it?

No, but since I don't normally feed during summer and fall, I wasn't looking. I bought a new bottle for this year, figuring I would need it. Haven't touched it. It might say something on the label. I mean, I know Augustine loves sun, but my yard holds the water better than my neighbor who keeps a nice yard. And some friends mowed it short while they were out of town, and so quick to dry out! I will let you know if I find something.

EDIT == there is nothing on the label about fertilizing, so i'd like give it a week or so to work, then do what you want. It's not like it was overnight, but within a month, I noticed improvements, and it just got better and better.

Evening folks :pccoffee: , night 2 underway with little sleep this morning, oh well. Had a good day though, scored some Tool Tickets and was able to spend a little time with my son who turns 6 today, before coming into to work. He wasn't impressed with the Tool Tickets I got him for his birthday :notsure::rofl:

Lawn looks great bud, pretty jealous I must say. Mine looked like that only while we were getting all that rain. I water at least once a week but need to work on my feeding. Hard to really keep up with it, with family life and work but I try to do my best. And it doesn't help when your neighbor could care less about his yard
Hey man, I'm pretty sure you did great just to get this far. Their loss, and I'm sure it was a good learning experience. Like I always say, the right opportunity will show itself when the time is right. Just gotta keep on going

Yeah those are probably resale tickets cause floor tickets were $185 when they went on sale. This is what I saw when I logged into to Ticketmaster

I thought for sure I was out of luck but was able to get through with no issues in about 15 minutes. Scalpers are scum
