I received the Wheelers stainless lines (in red) today. They have the correct mounting bracket for the knuckle. They look ok to me.

In comparing them to the 1st gen lines from LCE, I can't understand why LCE has two mounting brackets. There is no place to mount the second bracket on a 6-lug.

Has anyone else had this experience with a 6-lug?

Huh not sure...I got the Stoptech stainless steel lines, I'll have to take a look at them later and see what they came with. IIRC they were like the wheelers ones

I replaced my ‘03 front brake lines with the Wheeler SS lines. Just the one bracket is required.
I’m like you, not sure why the two brackets.

My 5 lug has 2 brackets. Did they send the correct hose?

I called and tried to explain the issue and they said the lines are for a 6 lug. But that can't be right.

Im guessing its for if you have a stupid high lift.

The lines work fine for a normal lift.

The 2nd bracket it for if you have a "full retard" lift.

My opologies to those with handycap family members. The description is perfectly appropriate.

I think you may be on to something here. I have the shorter lines for up to 3" lift. I think they make longer lines too so maybe that is what he got.

I've heard about this strangeness from LCE on front brake lines as well. My understanding is that the multiple brackets are for different applications. I've heard 5- vs. 6-lug, and also for trucks other than Tacoma. Essentially, I think it's just their way of having a single line that they can use for multiple applications.

Kinda strange if you ask me, but I guess it could be easier to inventory.

Anyway, TL;DR - just use the single bracket and you should be fine.

Note however that if you're doing this for the Tundra brake upgrade, that I'd consider skipping the banjo connection and getting the hard/soft line kit. Works with all 13WL calipers, regardless of how poorly they are remanned, which is an issue I recently ran into on the trail:

I think having a one design for all application is it. In looking at the site, they all have the 2nd bracket for a 6-lug. I ordered before I had taken it apart. I just shouldn't have ordered anything.

I'll just stay with a single bracket line.
