If you want a constant stream of compliments, go PRO. Even non-tacoma commonfolk can tell the difference. If you wanna stroke yourself about your good financial decisions every time you see a pro in the wild, the off-road is for you. It's pretty simple.

Wow, Pro owners like myself get no respect here on TW:(

LOVE my Pro and I didn’t consider any other model of the Tacoma. The rarity of the Pro model along with the awesome Fox suspension, leather, sunroof, heated seats, TRD wheels, 1” lift, unique hood, etc. sold me when they first hit Toyota showrooms in late 2016 as a 2017 model.

Get a Pro if you get OR you want to turn it into Pro anyways, time is money. Id wouldn't pay over MSRP on the Pro. If you like the suspension/leather get the Pro of course you can do it yourself...time is money.

I have NEVER paid MSRP for any vehicle that I have owned. I negotiated a $5k discount under MSRP on my brand new 2019 TRD Pro ($42.8k plus tax and license).

I wish. I got an DCLB OR Premium. ALL Pro’s in CA were $5k or more over MSRP. I tried and later decided I wanted a long bed anyway.

Only reason why people are hating on Pro models because its beyond their budget and due to their regret justifying ways to say their OR is better in all sorts of way and I call this the Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance stages. Lol

No hate here ... For me, it wasn’t about budget. I wanted a Longbed Pro and they just don’t make one.

Why do so many pro owners have such a persecution complex? Not being snarky just asking. I mean who cares what some dude on teh interwebs thinks about the viability of your purchase?

Short beds are better off-road, hence the reason the Pro is not offered in a LB version.

Lol. No, not really. It's called value ;) BTW; I never hated on the Pro model, in fact I was dead set on the Pro when I started my shopping, but when I researched and realized that the real difference is just the Fox suspension, my common sense took over, that's all. After all (sorry to say this) it's just a truck, not a collectible like a Dodge Demon, IMO.

I love the Pro and I was looking for a Long Bed. I really liked the Factory Fox but not the fake scoop. Pro was $5k-$10k+ over MSRP. Color was a Pro challenge as white or black were my only options.

Neither do Sport , limited , SR or SR5 owners . Its OR MT lifted with wheels and tires or nothing around here and don't forget about bumpers skids and sliders too . I bought my truck like it and I don't care what trim others buy , just hope they enjoy theirs and are safe and have good luck with it .

I got the pro because I really wanted the voodoo and didn't mind spending the extra cash. I plan to enjoy the stock suspension a year or two before I upgrade it. Other than that the interior is pretty nice and you don't see many around here in socal, so I guess the fact that's its a bit "rare" was part of it as well. I don't plan on selling but the resell value is pretty great too (any Tacoma in general) . Nothing against any other Tacoma they're all great trucks.

I know the thread is for TRD OR vs PRO but my dealer has a TRD Sport DC with the MT and Tech Premium for $37K and I know I could get more off the price. What I haven't settled in my mind yet is how bad I want that Army Green. My second favorite color is black and this TRD Sport is black, with all the bells and whistles and a hell of a lot less cheddar.
