Anyone have trouble with the Top Tier camera? I did the install yesterday pretty easily thanks to the video and all the other information on this post. Before putting the dash back together I tested it and it worked fine. After putting the dash back together, zip tying the line through the engine compartment, etc. my front view was a black screen. I was able to toggle to the back camera, but nothing on the front. I pulled out the multimeter and I'm getting power from the unit to the plug for the camera. I also tested continuity on the RCA and I'm good. I can't believe the camera was working and then died/fried that quick. Any other suggestions for cameras for the chickenwire grille? TIA

OK, I'm sure it was my fault but I can't figure out what I did wrong and how I fixed it. I had a 9v battery adapter for a bike light that I hooked up to the camera and plugged it in to the AV input to a TV and the camera worked fine (?!). I re-installed it on the truck and all is good. No idea what happened. So far so good. I am sorry I doubted the camera, or the unit, or the wiring, or the video install help. It is working, so I am happy.

It's somewhat unclear whether you can leave the front camera on for longer than 30 seconds at a time. In your video you seem to suggest that it's on a 30 second timer, but can that be overridden or not? Thirty seconds might be great for parking but not for off-road.

Double tap the mode button to turn the camera on the screen. From there you can up/down arrow to whichever camera view you want then press & hold that arrow button till you hear a beep & it will lock onto that view. Kinda nice if your pulling a trailer to keep an eye on it if you want or front view for offroad

    A question for this group...
Is this completely plug-and-play or are there some wires that need to be spliced? I would prefer not to have to splice into any wires. I have some basic skills and think I could handle this installation, but definitely don’t want to screw anything up! Thanks.

100% plug n play other than the camera wire you need to run. The kit has the connector to do that also so yea it's pretty well thought out. I don't like cutting factory wires either. There are YouTube videos of install to check out

Not to hijack the thread but www.anytimebackupcamera.com has a plug and play kit to install a front cam. I,ve had it in mine for over a year and works great. Its on a dpdt switch and works flawlessly, even with my new T9 headunit8DBB4080-CA17-45EA-87CD-0262ACA0A123.jpg22330C77-8F53-47D1-913C-D45DC23C2F56.jpg
