    Depends.
How much do you want to lift your truck?
If you go with a 2" front and 1-1.5" rear lift then you're probably looking at roughly $2k for shocks, $50-$200 rear lift options, bumpstops can be as cheap as $100 or so, up to $1k on kings bumpstops. UCAs would be up to you but would be another $500

I would think anywhere from $2500-$4000 depending how crazy you go with it

I think I’d do the 2” front and probably 1” rear. Installation will probably Jack that price up a bit too

I’d read a bit in here first:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/considering-long-travel-read-here-first.180457/

I thought I could kinda take shortcuts and save nickels and dimes here and there, but now having LT, you can’t haha!

But if you are considering LT, even just a “basic/standard” 3.5+ kit, fiberglass, and varying rear upgrades to keep up with the front (not a full built roll cage trailer rig): I’d read and lurk in the LT sections as much as you can, even just listen to what people are doing and what problems they encounter etc...
Or even see if anyone in your area has LT and would give you a ride on or offroad so you can decide and ration if you want to sink the $$$ into the truck that is required to go LT.
If you’re in SoCal, there is bounds to be tons of guy that’d do this for ya.

You might think, YES LETS DO THIS, start to save, and do it “right” the first time.
Or maybe you think, this is cool, but I’d be happy with a mid travel setup (coilovers, upper control arms, leaf pack, and a relocated performance rear shock)

    ——
Me, I rode in one lt truck once, and knew that was what I wanted to do, coming from a motorcycle racing background.
And so I didn’t do any of the middle ground or “waste my money” with less aggressive setups. Went from stock to LT, and I’m still saving for things to complete the package.

1" rear I will just throw a block back there. A child could install your rear shocks and 1" block. 1" block won't change your ride quality at all, it's plenty strong, and won't need much if at all driveline corrections, but I would get a tapered one.
You can either grab some duro bumpstops or even fox 2.0 air bumps depending on how much you want to spend. It seems like if you're wanting to ride fast a set of aftermarket UCAs would be good. Allow for more travel out of your shocks.

Depends on what your planning on doing. They just allow the shock to run longer before you need to stop and let them cool down.

Mostly highway, some offroad nothing too crazy, and beach. I plan on mounting a bed rack so not sure if a reservoir would be needed for that.

Aktyually, the question is “depends. How competitive do you really want to be” not “how much lift do you want”

    If it’s mall competitions, 5k.

Actual competition, 25k. Minimum. Plus you’re gonna need a helmet.

I don’t know how many of YOU actually off road. But I need 40s to get over the things I drive over.

Also, agreed. Slower off roading stuff is fucking BOOOOOOOOOORING. Yet that is the standard by which all compare. How many rocks you SLOWLY rolled over. Gimme a break.
