    What's this pink crap connected to my fan? Is it factory? any of you guys have this? Or is this a sign of past-problems?

    Only a problem if you don't want the fan to spin. It's part of the *accessory* drive assembly. Why they choice pink...::shrug::

    If you run the engine with the hood open- You'll see it spin tho.

    it's a fan clutch. but it's not really a clutch. it's full of liquid. sort of acts like a clutch. french people invented it. we don't know why.

    Ok but im wondering why its PINK??? I'm assuming it's not factory...and wondering why this would have been replaced by a previous owner? Except for maybe the prev. owner being female, or gay and them just wanting a PINK shaft in the engine compartment...

    Anybody think of any problems that may have occured that would have led to this part being replaced?

    on the first gens the color of that shaft is how you could tell if you had the factory towing package or not.

    I will check under my hood at lunch and see if mine is bi-curious too. But maybe the fan broke or something and plastic destined for Barbie's got diverted to Toyota

    Who DOESN'T need a pink shaft in the engine compartment...Yup...Went there.

    I bought my Taco new- 13 whole miles from my test drive before we took devliery...and mine too...is pink. Wouldn't worry about it man.
