Small victories here, got the steering wheel controls to work!! Previous owner did a good job with a nice head unit and upgraded speakers...but what person wouldn't put the extra couple $$$ to have the use of the steering wheel Volume and Channel buttons.

Cabin filter and engine filter replaced, rattle can spray on the door sill where they wore away the paint. After that cures I might add some PPF.

Tuesday night I changed the wheel bearings pads and rotors and have driven the truck every day since with no noise. This morning as I was backing in to a parking spot at work, I heard a clunk and scraping noise from the front end. Upon looking I noticed the caliper was rubbing the wheel. I crawled under to see that one of the bolts was gone and the other was loose. I know I tightened them cuz I was using my breaker bar to loosen and tighten.20190907_142048_HDR.jpg 20190907_142119.jpg
I pulled one from the skid plate bracket to hold til I get home and can get a new bolt.20190907_142222_HDR.jpg

Didn't grab the torque wrench for them. I did for the wheels.

Oil change with Mobil 1 and a Toyota filter, tire rotation and greased the driveline and front end. It was my first time changing the oil as I had been leaving it up to the local dealer. However I found out they weren't rotating the tires or doing the driveline/front end greasing as I had been lead to believe when I first started taking it there. Guess that's what i get for not doing it myself.

Well. Something is in my calipers...great.
Sounds like nails on a chalk board when I’m braking

Yep...Toyota. You can get them new on eBay...about $170 or so. I found these used on Facebook Marketplace.

Eventful day. First road trip with Rosie. Drove up to South Lake Tahoe for our anniversary weekend. Truck did great coming up the hill.

Went out to a couple lakes, including my first off-road trek... Bumpy as hell, but I loved it. Wife didn’t at all (likes the destination though). Three year old slept through the bumps.

Rolled 95k about an hour ago. Not bad for an ‘08.
