I really hope that Tacomas and Tundras don’t starting doing this, because it used to be only the Camry...

The radio has annoying feature that locks out the ability to change album and artist at speeds above 5 MPH.

I got a 2020 Corolla LE as a free loaner while my truck gets inspected, and I was dismayed to find that it had this stupid feature.

My friend Doug used to drive his mom’s 2007 Camry Hybrid before he got his own car, and it had factory GPS. The Camry had only an AUX input and no USB, so controlling the iPod while driving was not an issue. However, if we decided to change our destination while going 35-45 MPH, we were fucked. We would have to wait for a long red light or pull over, because the stupid GPS would lock automatically at speeds above 5 MPH. You’d think that Toyota would link the radio to the front passenger seat so it could sense if the driver had a copilot.

By the way, I have base model 2nd Gen RC with an aftermarket stereo system far superior to anything offered in any current or former Toyota product, so this isn’t an issue for me. It just makes me hate new cars even more whenever I have to drive one.

 

How the hell are you even supposed to install an aftermarket head unit?!?!

 

Surprisingly, this car has an ignition key!

With the exception of the TRD PRO, the white SR5 DCSB, and the blue DCSB in the showroom, these were the only new Tacomas on Thompson’s lot that day...

Nice truck if it didn't have that ridiculous snorkel...

 

I thought it was more of a dust filter? Someone told me that these trucks don't have actual "snorkels"...

Also, my former boss at the detail shop told me that installing a snorkel (at least on a Jeep Wrangler) would lower the position of the air filter and make the it more susceptible to water damage.
