Hello! Just bought my first Tacoma (and first new car ever) and have already gotten the itch to improve it a bit. Almost went with a 4runner TRD premium, but the more modern options on the Tacoma and the higher towing capacity changed my mind.

    I have:

    >Tech package
    >Bed mat/all weather mats/mudflaps
    >Toyota Tacoma tonneu cover

    So far I have done:

    >LED interior lighting
    >LED Highs/Lows and Fogs
    >LED Backup and License bulbs
    >Predator steps
    >A/C Drain line mod

Things I am looking to do:

    >Sound dampening on doors
    >Improve stock speakers
    >Install TRD Fox suspension
    >Bed lighting
    >Maybe the 2020 headunit, but Entune isnt as bad as I had thought it would be
    >TRD Pro grill
    >Most likely more after spending time in this forum.

Trying to make this "my" truck without voiding any warranties it has.20190831_112812.jpg 20190829_161446.jpg 20190825_181021.jpg

Welcome! New here also, just picked up my Cavalry Blue Sport in July!

I highly recommend Noico's sound deadening products, you can find them on Amazon. I used there butyl matt on the door skins and their butyl matt & foam matt on the floors and back wall. The door skins made the most significant difference for sure - took about 18 square feet. The floor and the back wall took about 36 square feet.

I contemplated doing the roof with foam to keep the heat out, but it's a little more involved than what I'd like to get into right now. There is a great guide here by TSki --> https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/my-silver-gsu-build.460083/page-3#post-15503347

If you're really into car audio then you ought to do the speakers while you're at it. There is a good write up here by bshammer0 --> https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/premium-audio-upgrade-for-less-than-250.510424/ . This honestly has been the best mod so far. Night and day difference. If you order the door speakers through amazon they have all the adapters to make everything plug and play.

If you ever want to add a sub, this is by far the easiest way. A plug in play harness for behind the head unit with RCA's and Remote Turn On.

Beautiful Truck, I love the lights! Do you remember where you got them, part numbers, anything like that?

    Cheers,
    Robert

With the Hikaris, after you install them, they will rotate about 30 degrees. This is so that you can set the beam pattern, I did one side, matched it to OEM, then did the other side.

Oh and from my other post to clarify..

As other members have pointed out Noico is good for vibration dampening but to actually kill road and wind noise you will need a mass loaded vinyl. I didn't go that route so I don't know the best options available but I'm sure there are plenty of threads on it.

Ordered my TRD Pro Grill from the The TacoGarage.com and got the TSS wiring and garnish from Ebay. Found OEM cheaper on there. Also grabbed a MESO custom fob color matched to my truck. After my wallet re-inflates from this venture, I will be doing the sound dampening and speaker upgrade. Not sure on the floor dampening, anyone got a photo walkthrough as to how intrusive that is? Also looking for a good hood insulator.
