I would like to do Gold Mountain, but I only have stock armor and no sliders. Also, my tires are only 31's.

HAHAHAHAHAHA, I need to stick to fire roads with my setup!!! :anonymous::rofl::rofl::rofl:

No not yet. I'm bolting them on myself next week.

    1) I want them to re-balance the wheel/tires because they used tape weights static balance (inside only weights)... that was on me because I wasn't specific on how to balance them. Annnnnnyways...

    2) I simply don't want to use my new setup until they're really ready to be used. No reason to put them on yet if I'm not even going to be using them yet

    3) finally, I was right in thinking that they would have been a bit of a hindrance since I'm working on my old antenna mount and needing to move the bed back. The tires would have made it more difficult for me to do what I have to do... without going into detail about that...

Overall, I just know that it is making it easier for me to deal with what I have to do to get things done within reason and just making it easier on myself. Don't let it fool you, a truck bed ALONE is actually quite HEAVY AF!!! :benchpress::facepalm::frusty:

But yeah, just making it easier on myself for doing what I am doing.

@Nicklovin oh yeah, a few weeks ago, I'm walking by my truck and notice my "rear skid" is hanging a bit low on one side??? o_O One of the mounting bolts came out.:rofl::rofl::rofl: I was apparently driving like that for a while or I simply never noticed it???

Either way, I had to get an M8-1.25, if I remember right, from Home Depot. The other bolt on the opposite side apparently got bashed by a rock and I barely was able to get that one out. :bananadead:

Just wish I had a garage brotha!!! :frusty::annoyed:

Lucky you, I just woke up and the wedding party wants to start drinking again
I got drunk at some beach house with random strangers in La Jolla
Funny the other week when I was walking up the driveway I noticed the skid on the green truck was hanging too. Immediately swapped in stainless steel bolts and lock nut, hopefully it stays on :anonymous:

Where did you get your stainless steel bolts??? Mine are M8-1.25... I believe? I already forgot. But the point is, I know they're not stainless steel. I had no choice but to get what they had, which was, Zinc... I believe. The washers and split washers are stainless steel though, for sure.

Anyways, do you remember where you got your stainless steel bolts???

btw, La Jolla is a NICE area!!! Damn dude, hang out with the rich folk???!!!

Why would you bother putting ss on a skid....on a taco...just curious. I could see maybe grade 8 bolts but stainless? Muy esspensive esse. I’m sure zinc coated bolts will do the job and never give you any issues. Little anti-seize and some blue loctite and you’re good.

Yeah, I believe mine ARE Zinc coated? I had bought them at Home Depot.

And, come to think of it, I know the front bolts are Zinc as well and have never given me any issues.

Good point about the blue loctite!!!:fistbump:

Ace hardware tends to be a better place for loose bolts, better selection, especially of the metric stuff.
