    Gross:rofl:that light stuff is their “pulled pork”. The brisket was beyond greasy and saturated in sauce. There was a pool if grease at the bottom of the plate. Something tells me the meat isn’t smoked

    I’ve heard BBQ down in Austin/San Antonio is the best, but I’ve never had it. I’d be amazed if it was better than what’s up in Dallas.

    I wish there were entertaining roads to make the trip some fun, but always a good starting or ending point. Only problem is when you show up at the great shops at the end of the day, and "sold out" out of what you wanted!

    It was started in 2014, but we're trying to revive it. Lots of tacos in Killeen/Fort Hood, Harker Heights, Belton, Temple, Waco and surrounding areas, so hopefully they find this thread as a resource to meet locals for help and hanging out.

    Well that's the deal! No one wants to show up in Lockhart. I'm now the only member, sadly, and everyone in ATX and SATX thinks it's a thousand miles away. We have no Hill Country, and the trail roads all go PRIVATE before you can have any fun. So, this would be a great stop for you all leaving early for a Shiner Beer tour, then here mid-afternoon for BBQ. Who cares if it's old highways if you have Beer and BBQ!
