Anybody got a third brake light take off?

Mine has the OE leak and toyota denied the warranty on it. I’ve had mine taped around the edges to keep the water out but the rain is coming soon.

If anyone has an oe take off let me know what you want for it.

will these fit 3rd gen double cab versions? because i saw somewhere that the access cab and the double cab third brake lights are different from each other

 

They will not. There is no aftermarket 3rd brake light for the double cab 3rd gens available(except mine )

Might have to RTV or silicone seal it until you find a solution.

 

Yea. I could also just pull it and repair it with epoxy I guess.

How difficult / much time to r&r the headliner?

 

Leaking at base or at cover?

The cover seal on mine is tiny and shitty. Base looks ok.

 

Base. The housing doesn’t tighten against the sheet metal.

 

Suckage. Leaking into cab. Yes seal yourself.

 

Since you would only be pulling a part of it down and not the whole thing, maybe an hour at most to get to what you need.

If the base isn't tightening against the sheet metal I would suggest to just seal it on the outside and save yourself the time to pull the headliner.

That way you only have to do it once when you decide to replace the light.
