So I've been curious about this for a while and cant seem to find anything through search.

Back when I had a jeep, I bought a 1-ton ball joint set for the front Dana 30 axle. It allowed me to worry less about the weak BJs that came from the factory.

For my Taco, I've been searching around to see if that can be done on the stock LCA but cant find anything. I dont want to use a Uniball, and searching for a beefed up complete LCA has only shown me Long Travel set ups.

Does anyone know if they make a stronger aftermarket LCA with the same dimensions of the stock one. Or even an option for stronger Ball Joints.

And no I dont mean LCA skids. Those do nothing to actually strengthen the BJ or the LCA.

Those are uniball. I want something that keeps ball joints. I hate uniball.

I don’t believe there’s any aftermarket offerings for beefier ball joints. The factory ball joint is pretty stout. Only other option I know of is uniballs. Unless you can somehow retrofit a 2nd gen tundra ball joint to a 2nd/3rd gen taco.

I would let this thread percolate and see if someone chimes in with what you are looking for. Beyond that, I would call some of the big-name suspension companies and ask questions... Icon, King, Camburg, Total Chaos, SPC....

It's not a huge deal to me. But some beefed up LCAs or ball joints would be nice. I dont off road as much as I used to (with the many vacations I take and the 19 kids I have) but preventative stuff is always big on my list for the truck. That's why I fluid film 5 times a year :D

I get it discount at lowes for like 7 bucks a can. And it only takes me 2 cans to do the whole underside. And living up here, salt is everywhere. I got really lucky when I purchased this. It was a truck down in VA originally. So very little rust.

But I did replace the LCAs, UCAs, shocks, steering rack and inner and outer tie rods, and the sway bar links AS SOON as I bought it.

Does a new frame count as bad?
