They have to "order" the new Taco... because I'm picky.

Well, the sales leech did say there's a chance they can snag one and re-direct it to my dealer. They didn't see a Red or Quicksand unicorn in any dealer's inventory... anywhere in Canada.
    I can wait.

Yeah if there’s one in the pipeline they can usually trade with whatever dealer has that allocation. It’s also possible to get put in the queue with a custom build, but that’s more work. I did that for my tundra.

So I just drove a AT with 87 Performance Tune and it felt incredible. I am about to pull the trigger on OVTUNE for my MT. Should I buy the open tuning solution or the traditional flash tuning package? Can I load 1.5/2.0 OV maps, etc on the open tuning solutions? I am leaning towards the tried and true traditional package but wanted to get some insight before completing my order.

Handheld if you don't have a computer or not comfortable installing software, drivers, and flashing via computer. All else, the traditional method.

Anyone else try running 89 octane with the 2.0 beta 87 octane file? Not sure if it’s just me but I put a little over half a tank of 89 octane in and it seems to run pretty nice. Still a little flat spot in second gear when accelerating hard around 2400 rpm that smoothes out around 3000 rpm. Seems like if I accelerate less aggressive it’s almost perfect.

Have you guys ever checked a 10k Pot with a cheap meter (harbor freight)

If you turn the pot really fast the reading on your meter freaks out, shows O.L. for a moment then settles in. Now if you move it slowly you get a smooth response.

Then if you grab your fluke 87v and do that same test, your meter reads perfect either way.

I feel that our trucks ecu is equivalent to the harbor freight meter. Push the throttle smooth and she is fine, push it quick.. O.weLl.

    Best explanation yet.

Now time for the fluke multimeter pedal mod.

That'd be awesome if a new throttle pedal fixed some problems

Listen up. There is nothing wrong with the 3.5l or the throttle other than the Toyota tune file. Three puny megabytes. That's it. Nothing more than that.

Keep your eyes peeled for the next @OVTune Beta drop.
