I see some old rubber that needs to be replaced. Get ready for a mid-life refresh.

As much as I like 1st gen Tacos, that's not a $20k truck. Even for Menlo Park.

Would be a shame to throw $20k at this thing, then go off-roading with it and beat it up or just otherwise use it as a pickup truck. You could do the same with a $8k truck, and I wouldn't feel so bad about scratching it.

If you want a collector's item trailer princess show truck, sure this is your truck. But if you intend to daily drive it, you're honestly wasting your money.

Exactly. This thing still needs all it's rubber parts replaced just as ANY other truck this old would. Control arm bushings, timing belts, all that stuff. Rubber dries and become brittle even when it just sits in a garage.

It's also got some type of oil/fluid leak near the front passenger frame rail.

Yep. It has a lot of restoration work needed to make it into the collectible truck league.

My dad had a '50 F1 Ford and a '57 T-bird. He drove that F1 quite a lot. Dump runs, that sort of stuff.

Tacomas definitely aren't in that "classic car" range yet. Maybe one day.

I see them for 5k without one straight body panel and 250k miles, and they sell quick.

My money 5k. I don't care how fast others waste theirs. It's not rare, it's not a collector's piece that I MUST have. It's a 20 year old truck and there's a million of them out there. My life isn't going to improve because I spent 20k on an old truck. If I need a loan, banks going to give me 5k. If I insure and then total it insurance is giving me 5k. If someone steals it, 5k.

Now if you GAVE me 20k, I'd go but one for 5k and spend the other 15 on something more important.

It's a 5k truck is what im saying

I'd lower him to 10k, maybe lower? I'd just flag the post for scam and hopefully craigslist removes it, just to never see that type of thing ever again..
