As far as I know they're all integrated, at least in second gens. Nice for bleeding brakes too because they don't have to pump the brakes. Just hold it down and the electric pump keeps sending brake fluid until the bleeder is shut.

Speaking of which, I completely flushed/bleed my brakes this weekend. Hoping they work better now. Was a bit scary last weekend with them not stopping me so well.

Yea. They feel the same to me. But at least I’m sure there’s no air in there now.

I was more befuddled on your it just stalled out thing that to me seems very very odd. But having brakes especially on the hills we were on is a definite necessity. Also clean and adjust the rear brakes well that'll help with the pedal being low if they are way out of adj. BTW those trails with the big hills were black diamonds.

That's good at least. I second what skip said and double check drum adjustment. There's also a chance you've got air in the abs module which would need a scanner to cycle that. From what I've read on here it's not a common scanner so the dealer is your best bet, if adjusting the drums doesn't work out.

@ilubtimmyhos recently went through a whole debacle with his brakes being lame. Finally said fuck it and let a dealer deal with it. Wasn't very cheap but finally had tight brakes.

The rear brakes are new and Randy and I adjusted them again that morning because the day before my front brakes were smoking coming done the long steep road back out of the trails.

I'm still not entirely convinced we did anything. They're a bitch to adjust because you're just not sure if you're actually moving the ratchet.

I thought there was a way to bleed them and get the air out even through the module. Also it's a funky bleeding procedure IIRC I know someone (I won't mention who) linked to the procedure on here and it's not the typical start from the furthest and work your way forward

I don’t think there is any air in there. I can’t really see why there would be.

Put it all the way down into the L and 4L when descending the big hills like that. I just barely would hold my foot on the brake just enough to light up the lights then when I needed too apply more brake pressure. Let the truck work for you as much as you can.

Yeah I dunno. Is this a new thing or has it always been kinda shitty, and just showed face at ATR?

Yea. It’s hard to tell how much the brakes are suppose to drag.

Cooking the fluid can cause air bubbles essentially boiling it so to speak. If you were able to get it that hot.

I tighten my rear ones up to the point it takes quite a bit of effort to rotate the tire when it's off the ground. Also crud and stuff in the drums can cause them to not really work all that well.

The day my brakes were smoking I didn’t really feel like I was using them that hard. But I am pretty heavy so...

But the rest of the weekend, I started dropping in to 2L and engine braking that hill.

Not sure. All the fluid that came out looked really clean and fresh. I thought it would look nastier since it’s never been flushed.

Yeah I ride all the time in 2 then when descending a hill slap the shifter over to L to let the engine do the work. Being heavy most definitely adds a disadvantage.

Seems like it’s worse since I replaced the rear shoes. Figured it was because the adjustment was bad, but it didn’t seem much better after we adjusted them.
