How old and any quirks I'd need to know about? We have young kids, as you know, but are actively looking to adopt a rescue. The ones we've been looking at have been between 4 months and 1.5 years, lab mixes with mostly lab in them.

 

He identifies as a lab, so you're good.

They think he's about a year. He's house broken but needs someone to teach him basic obedience. He loves the kids in the neighborhood and other dogs. But he needs to learn not to jump up

 

I think 'goofy mutt' fits the bill of what we're looking for also!

But on a serious note I'm very partial to an xtracab v6 first gen, since it was what I wanted when I was looking originally

 

That's easy enough. I feel like most of the dogs we'd end up adopting would need about the same, basic obedience and to be taught not to jump or chew. Being house trained is huge!

 

I have to say, I fell in love with the 1st gen when they first came out. I just thought they looked cool. 1st gen, white, 4x4 xtracab, a family friend got one and I wanted it. Couldn't drive yet, but I wanted it.

 

All the fake turd gen owners are off to buying full sized trucks now. They got the memo from Instagram and now there's a cleansing taking place.

 

He's a good natured boy. I think my neighbor really does love him, but he lets him escape all the time with no collar. And he isn't capable of walking him, so he's got pent up energy. I'd take him if I didn't have 2 already

 

There are dog walking services. Maybe suggest that to your neighbor?

Definitely keep us in mind, if it does come to that. We do have applications in to a rescue organization now but I like the idea of knowing a dogs actually history (or knowing someone who does know their history). As of know, we're crossing over a month of waiting to see if our application gets approved...

 

Next time he escapes I'll just grab him and take him to you haha

Yes, my dad had a 2000 xtracab in silver with a leer cap. Only reason for trading it in was I was getting taller and a double cab made more sense, so he got his current 2005 DCLB brand new. Which that truck made me love second gens... Partial to both I guess

Ah good choice, tracker. I will say I have an old man truck as a wheeler, since the wheel base is ideal and its almost exactly like my '88 i had in high school, just 18 years newer

 

I crate trained my dog for that and rewarded her for it when she went right out and did her business.

 

@Pugga , gave you tried the MSPCA in Boston? I got mine there and I can’t remember it taking that long.
