I just need those eyes/ears open for when a j-shift transfer case+auto transmission combo appears within short distance of me.

 

Doesn’t his have a hole blown through the bottom

 

It even has Orange FIPG which is basically glue, they really didn't want it coming apart. I've never been successful in cracking it open without using a jack to push against the two halves.

 

I dunno. I just thought his gears locked up

Last I remember, he did but for a 4 cylinder...or manual transmission...

I think that may be the hardest of all the parts to find.

 

Yeah then fuckit, grab the 30lb sledge and crack it, the casting is thin in areas and cast iron is brittle

 

I'd like to see you get that front diff case apart in 5 minutes.

 

Maybe idk. @BartMaster1234 uses some website to find his tranny when he did it

 

Stopping in to say hello and ask a quick question:

What are U-joint flange bolts torqued to?

 

I don't have one anymore, but if you've got a spare I've got 5 mins. Monte cracked his open on the trail to remove the innards once, he and ben used a screwdriver and a hammer and had it open real fast

 

I watched the fluid drain into the snow at 3 am, pretty neat

I've yet to contact them being that they're a salvage yard; was hoping to find one from a vehicle that hasn't sat for awhile after a bad accident.

 

Also you do know they have two opposing flat spots to put a prybar or pry screwdriver right?
