Denny popped the wall a couple times Saturday. That certainly brought the ruling on rear ride height being too low. The drivers have pleaded with NASCAR to do something about this issue.

Used to love Nascar Racing and followed it through the late 70s through 1998. They lost me when they started racing cars that didn't exist like the 2 door Taurus and then the Car of Tomorrow came out. I identified with the cars more than the drivers. They also started cramming people into smaller seating and kept raising the prices and the way you order tickets. Other things happened like Davey Allison being killed. Harry Gant retired. Ernie Irvin getting hurt. The Petty's and Allison's retiring. I tried to stay with it with Tony Stewart being my favorite driver then but when I saw Dale Earnhardt get killed at Daytona I never watched another race. Martinsville was always my favorite track to visit. Everything was so close to see. I still have a huge collection of autographs from all the races I went to. I was lucky to see so many races when Nascar was still a southern thing. I'm sure its still a lot of fun to experience. I used to say you can tell you had a good time by how much oil dry you had floating in your drink.

Back when they let you stand at the catch fence, I used to leave with melted tire rubber stuck in my hair. Post-race boogers were always interesting. I've been doused by engine coolant a time or two, as well.

I found the race boring Sunday, In face I haven't seen more that a couple of races this year that cause me to stop doing something else and just watch. Indy Car has gotten better and F! is better this year, still fun to see who makes through the first lap. I have been involved in racing since 1948 as a fan, crewman, driver (LOL) owner. Been to more races than I can count. To many buy a rides in NASCAR and two regulated drop some of the 1 1'2 cookie cutter tracks put them on dirt miles. on the smaller track run heat race for qualifying position in main evern limited to 24 cars, have non qualifiers race with transfer to main. Lastly get rid of the play off. Who ever has the most points after 36 is the champion. I have really lost interest this year I record the race and if I sit down to watch later in the day and find who won, erase the recording and go do something else.

Man. I'm in the other spectrum. I cannot stand F1 and very rarely does an IndyCar race entertain me. They are so boring to me, especially F1. And I hate to break it to ya, every form of Motorsports besides your local racing is pay to play. Doesn't matter how many wheels, fenders, HP, that's the way it is anymore. Totally agree with heat racing and dirt. Would be so much more fun!! Dirt is the best and it makes it more on the driver not the car.

To me the greatest race I ever saw was when Harry Gant won 4 in a row at Martinsville in 1992. He got wreaked out near the end of the race and came back from a lap down passing every car on the lead lap to win with the front of his car heavily damaged. I never seen a crowd go crazy like that again. That has always been my favorite memory of Nascar racing and I was lucky enough to be there that day. That day I also took a card with me for Doyle Ford to sign. I got his attention while he was getting ready to flag the race. He let me climb up so he could sign it. Doyle used to be a Nascar driver in the 60s and 70s and was happy that I remembered him from those days. Good memories. It was alot different then.

I think my favorite race would be when Irvan won at Michigan after his wreck . I think the announcer said there isn't very many dry eyes here . I wasn't there but it got to me too .

Indycar has really turned up the heat this year. That Gateway race a few weeks ago was one of THE BEST races I have seen in my 30+ years of following motorsports. I haven't followed much F1 lately. I followed in the early-mid 90s and again from post-Schumacher to now. I'm put off by Hamilton's dominance so I haven't tuned in much this year or last year. Sunday night was a bit of a bummer. No one could do anything with the leader unless they were in lap traffic. As usual, the best racing was from 15-33 place, but they don't show that stuff on TV. I only tune in for the true driver's tracks these days. Atlanta, Darlington, Watkins Glen, Sonoma, Martinsville, Bristol.

I'll admit, it wasn't the best Darlington race. It's because of the lack of horsepower and that barn door spoiler on the trunk. But I still did think it was entertaining just wish they would bring back the horsepower and raise the ride heights.

I watched the end of the IndyCar race at Gateway. I will say it was pretty good! Every other IndyCar race I've ever watched has been super boring IMO. INDY500 was good this year. The road course racing makes me fall asleep. F1 is terrible I can't even watch a lap of it. I still enjoy NASCAR more because you can beat and bang a little bit. It just has a lot more qualities of racing I enjoy than IndyCar/F1.

Jimmie is out of the playoffs amd Newman puts Roush in the playoffs... Interesting. Love him or hate him, Rocket Man lifts an organization up. Funny how shithouse still has a ride... Maybe Roush should can him for some talent (they canned bayne for kenseth amd he put speed in the 6 and now Newman has improved it even more)
