tire size ?

I have an 08 (non TRD ) 4wd, access cab, Tire size now is 245/75R16 on the stock 6 lug steel wheels. Had the suspension TSB done . Going to get the bilsteins for the front because it sits high in rear end now ,but much better ride . My Question is ,what are the largest tires I can put on these stock rims now that I have all this clearance now ? Thanks

 

I think 275/85R16's but I could be wrong.

 

265/75/16 without wheel spacers.

285/75/16 with less backspacing and some trimming.

 

Really? 265/75R16's I have 265/70R16's on my 02 and I have lots of room.

 

265/70/16 is stock...

 

yeah, but the 285's will hit the UCA's without wheel spacers. There is plenty of room in the fender wells though.

If he gets spacers or some wheels with less backspacing he could run 285's.

 

I see you would think the 2 gen's could fit a larger tire then the first gen's stock but I guess not.

You should be good with that. I say get after market wheels or a spacer so you can get some 285's I personally think it looks so much better with a wider tire.

 

You have room with the tires pointing straight... but, when you are turning... and hit a bump... how much room do you have then? 265/75-16 is a 1" larger diameter tire than stock (for the OR TRDs).

 

265/75/16 may rub, but very slightly

 

Do not forget I had the suspension TSB done, that really jacked the rear end up,and if I set the bilsteins at 2.5 maybe it will give me the room for the 265/75R16s ???? THANKS AGAIN. Gonna paint the stock rims black at some point when I get new tires.Still the original factory 245/75R16 Dunlop tires. Almost 30000K.Really do not want to get too crazy,mostly stay on the blacktop !

 

OH yeah .....what do you think about KUMHO Tires Road Venture SAT KL61 or AT KL 78 ??

 

I just checked them out in Tire rack they look fine for street use and light off road. But for that price i would look into the DuraTracks http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...R6WDTOWL&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes there not much more and I have read nothing but good things about this tire. And seeing how your in NY they will do you good in the winter.

 

Workin on a customers 07 taco w/ 285/75/16. He's got a 38mm wheel spacer on stock alloys, and a 2 inch spacer lift. Lots of room between the UCA and sidewall, but tire rubs on sharp turns.

 

How bad is the rubbing(at full turn)? and what is it that rubs?
I'm looking at doing something similar. Thanks
