Installed some new SPC Upper Control Arms with 6112/5160's setup on the forth notch.

I had it aligned and am wondering if it could be better.... do these numbers look accurate?

Also put in the OME driveshaft spacer as I ended up getting 3.5" of lift instead of the 2.5" it called for. 2" blocks in the rear to level it out.

Personally I like more caster. But that’s me.

very similar to my numbers with same suspension, but without the UCAs. which OME springs did you use in the rear? did you use a space on the front driver side for the taco lean?

Used a 1/2" spacer for driver side. No springs in rear, just 5160's with the two in block.

That took away your caster that the UCA’s added. You have to tell them you want 3 to 4 degree caster or they usually won’t do it.

stupid question, but what is the purpose of so much caster, given the spec is 1.0-2.5 degrees? Is it just to get the wheel to self-center more forcefully? is there a value to that when off road?

    4th notch? OE springs?

    Seems like a bucket full-o-preload.

If you put a jack under the LCA and raise until the tire starts to lift, that would be static full compression.

The gap you see between coils is all the space you have left for dynamic compression before coil bind begins.

If your use starts to make noises and a rough ride you might consider more spring and the bottom notch.

    This might help. https://m.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=4

Not a stupid question at all. Alignment options are one of the largest consumer 'mysteries' in the automotive world. ;)

thanks for that. so only reason i could come up with that guys on TW want above spec caster is additional stability for lifted trucks or with bigger tires?

I did the same with a street driven autox vehicle. Max caster that is the same on each side was the start, then bring in camber, then toe. All as equal as possible side to side.

Most shops will only do that kind of work at extra cost, if at all, if they have a tech who can, and if they have their machine calibrated regularly.

The 6112's come with new springs designed for them. Of the five settings, I am on the 4th which calls for a 2.5" lift.

Just kinda shooting in the dark as to what my alignment should be set at. It tracks pretty straight, but I paid $500 for these UCAs and want them to be dialed in the best they can...

Your caster wouldn't be at 2 deg with stock UCAs; they would be closer to 0 deg.

Curious how you got 3.5” of lift. Either something’s installed incorrectly, or you torqued the living fuck out of things at full droop. Right? Wouldn’t that be the only reasons?

Motion ratio is about 1:2. 1/2" thick spacer would give about 1" of lift.

Curious, does your truck sit level or have a lean to one side? If you check the height of the left and right front fenderwells, are they the same or pretty close?

Sits level. Added the 1/2 spacer to driver side to prevent the taco lean.

It’s 3” of lift on front. 2” block in rear to level it and correct the bro lean I had.

Going to take it to get aligned again at a specialty shop... dealer could not get to 0,0,2.4 with SPC UCAs.

    I’ll post some pics.

Here's what the setup looks like. Driver side and passenger.

Driver 2.75" lift with .5" spacer.
    Passenger 3.5" lift

Everything sits level. Both driver and passenger measure 38" from ground to top of fender.

New alignment numbers from a local shop in Riverside, Dave's wheel alignment. These guys know what they are doing.

He pointed out that my rear was off due to the 2" blocks... I guess there is slight play in them and when installing you need to find a common point on the rear axle on both sides and make sure it's the same distance from the front.

    Rides smooth.

Is there any reason not to replace UCA's if you're going 1.5- 2" lift?
