Only got about 2 hours worth of work done on the bumper today. but here it is. started today out by drilling the 4 holes in the winch mount plate, i know you are super jealous of my ultra high end equipment.

here it is with the front part tacked into place, starting to look like something.

i failed to mention that i am totally obsessed with square and plumb and identical on both sides.

next was the top piece and no i don't have a break so that bend was done with the bench top vice and a hammer after scoring the back, and an angle finder was used to insure that they are both identical

one more view of that top piece i think its really coming together
    [IMG]

after this the inspector came by and informed me that it was date night, which means that she made a roast and it was 30 min away from being ready, she approves of the bumper but isn't sure that its going that great

i dont have the tools to drill large circle holes aka a hole saw and nice drill or drill press, so what do yall think about large octagons instead of circle holes? in the end i think this will make or break the bumper, i was going to do 2 octagons on either side of the roller fair lead, 2 for the lights, and 2 in the skid plate maybe, what do you think?

Camper top with racks, Custom fogs behind lower bumper. Interior LED lighting, Rock Lights, Hella 500s with upraged bulbs behind black billet grill, AAL, Front 5100s
    I'd invest in the hole-saw.

i dont have a drill that can spin a hole saw, i might could barrow one but i don't even know where to buy a high end hole saw, and are the holes for the lights "sawed" at a 90 to the bumper or at the angle that they will be shining out at?

She was nervous about face pictures on the internet.

At the angle that they will be shining out at. :)
And you want to drill them before you do the welding or else the heat from the welding will harden the metal and trying to use the holesaw will be worthless. ;) Oh, and cutting oil is your friend.

so by cutting oil u mean old motor oil right :). and this sounds like a total and complete bitch. I really hate drilling holes in steel. I am really leaning toward cutting the octagons. i am thinking that i will wait until everything is tacked together and then print off some octagons cut them out and tape them to the bumper take pictures and ill post them up. maybe i will add a pole. haha.

Got a good bit done today in about 2 hours of work or atleast i took a lot of pictures... here they are

started by bending up the little flaps on the winch mount plate so that it will match the top
    [IMG]

next i decided that some braces were in order before any more fab could be done, these will help support the winch and also act as a mounting surface for the skid plate which will be one of the last things to get mounted due to making the bumper more difficult to remove.

keeping things square is one of the top priorities
    [IMG]

Next i ran out of cut off wheels, the harbor freight ones really really suck, the one that you buy at lowes are about twice as expensive but last like 5 times as long...btw just because concrete cutting disks look the same doesn't mean that they are. and i know you are loving those fab shoes.
