my trailer is 3750 unloaded. and that was too much in my opinion for our tacoma. i'd be looking even lighter then 4000 loaded.

Lance trailers tow very easy. A 1985 is 23 ft long and dry wt. is 4600 range depending on options. Had two of them and its the only two trailers we ever had that didn’t have water leaks.

heres what I get from this thread. You can haul a heavy boat due to aerodynamics, but you cant haul a heavy trailer due to aerodynamics. I haul a 19 foot boat, weighs about 2900 loaded, boat trailer is probably 800, so prob 4000 total and mine hauls it just fine with ect on and in S4 and I go to S5 on the flats...I do have trailer brakes that work good also.

make sure you have trailer brakes, that is something I have on one trailer but not on the boat, it makes a diffrence and i run a sway bar.

Huh. I have an 18' camper (pretty small) and it hauls it just fine. I don't mind driving it around at all and never given me trouble. It is listed as 2572lbs dry weight and 4532lbs gvw, although I never drive it loaded with water or anything like that. From reading the comments here it makes me feel like I should be having a terrible experience hauling my camper...

I also obviously have brakes on the camper and it came with a sway bar.

That sounds like a perfect sized camper for the Tacoma.

I like to think so... My thinking was in line with a lot of people here. Didn't want to push the limits of the truck. Its a 2008 Rockwood Mini Lite 1808. Seems to fit really well with the truck.

though I would jazz up the abandoned OP with a 22' twin axle boat no brakes06truckcamper.jpg truck2019boat.jpg and a 17' Casita Trailer (single axle with brakes)

way too close, there are a lot of variables and terrain and hills that could lead to additional wear. i saw my grandfather f150 struggle with some wet pavement at times, go somethings smaller, take a look at what you really need. if you do decide to get it, make sure you learn a lot about towing, it can get dangerous quick if you are not cautious.
