is this also how insurance companies figure out their payout for your loss (or to ok repair work)

I see 1st Gen prices all over the place sometimes all over the country, they are not readily available in my location so the insurance would need to expand the net to figure out a value of replacement?

the only current Tacoma out there for sale I would be content with as compararable to what i have is listed at nearly $20k, its that V6 single cab
and i doubt they would ever consider paying me that much to replace my truck and just end up sticking it to me where the sun does not shine

There are people out there who want that truck for what it is, it will just take time for them to see the ad and contact you.

When I was in the market for a Taco, I specifically wanted a 2WD for several reasons. I finally found mine and jumped on it as soon as the ad was listed, and the seller said "I want to make sure you're good to come see the truck, because people are blowing me up through calls and emails and I need to take the listing down."

Not everybody wants a 4WD and you shouldn't have any trouble getting a fair price for that Prerunner, it just might take a little more time to find the end user.

When I went looking for a pickup, I specifically wanted a 2WD with an OR package. I've had fun and enjoyed several 4WD or AWD vehicles over the years. It has basically stopped snowing here so I don't need 4WD.
We do get "black ice" and sleet more frequently. For the occasional times when I might need to drive on ice covered streets, I have an FWD with VLSD we use on bad days.

Lol. People write their number like that so it doesn’t get hidden within the actual post. If you write your number like xxx-xxx-xxxx ..CL automatically hides it, and makes the person reading the post either click it to show the number or doesn’t show it at all depending on preferences from O.P.

Amazes me, what some people pull out of thin air.

I just assumed it was to keep scammers at bay, but it's really to circumvent CL auto-hiding numbers. I'm sure they do it for a reason, not that I care much anyway, I just prefer not to post my ph# in any form.

Ever heard of Hemming Motor News? I've been a subscriber since 1988. Maybe you should consider posting your truck in there. The Toyota section usually has FJs, Supras, Celicas etc. but very rarely if ever will you find a Tacoma since they are such a premium, even for Hemmings.

I would just ask for the starting price for KBB not for trade in but private party and go from there. I just bought a 1997 Toyota Tacoma 2.4l for $500 so each there own.
