    Morning..

When you do everything perfect and then realize a defective part will make you
Have to do weeks of work all over again is not something I wish on anybody.
    Quick background.

5 years ago we had to put a new block in the 56 Olds.

    BC97718B-7C8B-4EA2-AFFC-E1E3AC041CF7.jpg
The block was porous around the #5 hole and a sealer did not work.

So fast forward to this week.

Cust is interested in the purchase.
So driving the vehicle over the past week the boys feel it’s not running right and
    The motor has a tick.
Then very quickly it get worse then starts running rough.
    Crap.
So we end up with a dead cylinder.
    Not good.
Pulled the intake off last night.
And this is what we found.
    A destroyed cam and lifter.

    CD38E09B-E451-4298-906E-F4D55E881943.jpg

Come to find out 5 years ago there was a bad batch of lifters that were let out into the world.
    And we got them.
So now we start from scratch.
Cust was coming to drive it.
Well not going to happen anytime soon.
    Like next year..

So I’m sure there will be lots of e-mails and phone calls since
    This motor lasted 1,600 miles...

    Yeup

    1,600 MILES

Little known behind the scene things that can rear their ugly head..
Are we having fun yet ??

    Morning all

On vacation this week. Stay home and fix thing week, maybe hit the trails later.

Day one, deal with Mike type people at the dealership, oil change.
I would tell then about the other noises but more fun to fix them by myself.

After all, I did modify my truck and we know that is a no-no

    Happy birthday and welcome!

I was just yanking your chain a bit; a 20 to 40 degree temp diff is still a big change regardless of what numbers it starts and ends on.

There's a little bit cooler air coming your way. Woke up to a little bit cooler temps this morning. I think the high is supposed to 90 today.

This Toyota guys don't know what they are doing.

I'm going out there and watch him.
