Welp I was getting excited to start flight training again until I found the e6b in my flight bag f this LOL!! I never could figure that damn thing out and whomever invented it clearly sold their soul to the devil, because no mortal human could have came up with that device.

Maybe now that I'm 16yrs wiser I can finally master this damn thing!

Are you allowed to use it (the app) on a check ride?

I don't know. When I got my private pilot smartphones weren't a thing yet so there wasn't that option.

No one uses the e6b except for the written test. ForeFlight does all that for you and is approved for primary use. The FAA examiner here is interested in your real world knowledge and ability, not if you can fly the way they did when he learned.

It’s a great way to debrief your flights. Don’t think you’re gonna get internet famous and collect a paycheck from it though

Yeah- I was mostly thinking radio debrief and some flight info. Maybe kiss up and get some STOL plugs to earn a whole $.38 a week on the youtubes...haha

As a CFI, I recommend it to students who want to review flights. Excellent way to go over a flight more in-depth when you’re done. Especially radio usage. Only rule I give is click record and forget it during flight.

Not a great day for TCAS effectiveness.

I do have these that got sent over about 2007-8 timeframe from my dad. Still trying to find the pic I have of him refueling the first B-1 carrying the first bombs headed to the Stan from Diego to support Operation Jawbreaker.

French Rafale. Getting gas from the US even though they declared months earlier that their CAS "would only to support French troops in contact"... "well then maybe you should go find French gas..."

I sure enjoyed it! Some trivia; the Lao word for boat is: hua. The Lao word for flying is: bin. Yep, you guessed it, an airplane is called huabin or "flying boat" in Lao.
