    super weird, normally for LEO, its hiring process, academy, ~16 weeks of field training (riding with a field training officer and handling calls), then if you graduate field training you go solo. my buddy just got into a department, already has a take home vehicle, and hasnt even gone to the academy yet lol. i guess his department is: hiring process, 16 week field training, then if you pass you go to the 6 month academy. once you graduate academy you go out solo. seems back asswards to me
