This is essentially my approach when interacting with the internet sales managers. Emphasizing that I have a specific vehicle in mind, with preference for no optional parts, that I am prepared to put up to 20% down if the price is right, and that I am shopping around to other dealers currently. Finger is not yet on the trigger, but given the right target I'm flippin' the safety off :infantry:

I'm working with 2 dealers, the difference is:
1st dealer has 2 pros already on order for them, meaning I can have the truck mid December
2nd dealer would have to place a fresh order for the truck I want and would take 4 months for the truck to get here

Appreciate the info. Pretty aligned with how i've been working with the exception of pushing harder to get beyond their internet/phone reps. Thanks to everyone for the replies.

not sure if helpful but I just put some $$$ down on an OffRoad due to be built this Friday. (Seattle area, Toyota Kirkland)

Had a great experience, went in a month ago looking for an early 20 Pro/OR and didn’t get anyone trying to push me into a 19. On the test drive, confirmed I personally like the stock offroad a bit better (and blue!) despite that red leather stitch.

    One dealer just quoted me
Dealer just dropped a $5k mark up in addition to BS add on fees (i.e. theft protection, $500 in "doc fees", etc.). They played the "high demand" card lol.

Thanks! Funny enough, I have reached out to a few dealerships today and it sounds like things are starting to move in the Portland area as 2 out of 3 said they've started to get their allocations. One has told me they won't "pre-sell" or "reserve" the TRD Pros.

For those of you on Instagram, Toyota of El Cajon (California) just posted a video of a 2020 quicksand offroad showing off the turn signal. Appears like it's stock on hand.

yup. Automatic was a condition of purchase as the wife never learned and wants to be a truck girl sometimes too. I'd much prefer a stick but aw well.

If these are in stock (which I doubt), sure looks like a lot of 2020s behind it.
