    Holosun update:
Called today because I haven’t received any email updates, the gentleman in RMA that I talked to said a new unit would go out this week.
They didn’t physically see anything wrong with the sight but would turn it over to engineers for a thorough check.

Before I shipped it back the dot was back on but in manual mode (when I was shooting it was in auto mode) and it cycled through the different dots and brightness settings.

My personal opinion, it seems likely that it is a factory defect, probably just a bad switch or PCB.

Overall I’m happy with the service and process, my only issue is the fact that they don’t email updates, they should (IMO) send an email confirming your account, confirming your device registration, and then confirming receipt and acceptance of RMA items.

It's a Surefire M500 which is a complete handguard replacement with no exposed wires plus a flashlight and 2 smaller map lights and pressure switches built in

While seemingly large, pretty slick for it's age

How bright is it? I replaced one of my beloved old school aircraft aluminum pistol lights with a new m300. I popped in some new batteries and thought my old light was just dying, but in reality I have been so spoiled by the lumens of today that I didn’t realize how weak of a light it was. I think it had like 80 lumens in it...hopefully your light has a little more juice.

I kinda figured it was older. It just looks a bit goofy by the standards of today's lights and mounts. Looks like a good solution for the time though. We have come quite far in terms of lights and other accessories.

This is so true. I pulled out my old Surefire M3 this summer remembering how bright it was when we got them for a deployment (03’). $300 flashlight and it was crap compared to some of the cheap ones you can get at Home Depot these days.

We still have those at my Dept. With the led upgrade put in. They work fine and have held up forever which is why they haven’t been replaced, functional easy to use and durable. The only complaint is they are bulky.

Oddly enough this is a New England rifle, purchased in Vermont...dude behind the counter didn’t know what department traded it in but it does have the HPD sticker on the stock

I’d guess it’s a local small VT village PD but who knows

Looking at getting a Colt 1911. What’s the best one to get for the money? Thinking Delta Elite but open to other models.

Not comparing directly but Sportsman’s WH has Springfield Mil Specs on sale 9/13 for $689.
That is about ½ a Delta Elite and a sweet shooter (trigger a bit heavy and likely want to go ambi safety)

That is a good deal, but it has to be a Colt. Going to be having a boy in December and going to name him Colt. Getting a present for myself now and for his 1st birthday we will get him a 1911 as well. Don’t worry not going to let him shoot it at the age of 1.

Scratch my stupid idea of the 1911’s. Any good matching set revolvers out there for around $2k? My buddy just showed me these and got me thinking.

Consider this! He won't be able to shoot (likely) anything over a .22 until about 10-12 years old. This is just an idea in keeping with your Colt. These are .22 Mag, not mine, this pair was listed at $1500.00.
