So the Aints fans are still crying about the missed call last year ?? ... here's hoping L.A. wins their home opener and gives them more to cry about.

 

The phrase has always been ‘The boy who cried wolf’... it has now become ‘The girl who cried rape/sexual assault’
I’m no fan of AB but give us a break!! In the end this will come out to be false accusation and nothing will happen to the girl for lying.

 

I mean, you don’t know that one bit. There’s screenshots from last year of him harassing her, too.

 

I have to agree with @kakwvu, you don't know that.

I agree I don't like that it seems to have now become "believe the proclaimed victim at all costs before any evidence" instead of "innocent until proven guilty", but it's the world we live in. I do hope the truth comes out, and that the liar is punished accordingly.

 

She also came out publicly with her name. In the event that she would be lying, that’s quite the wager to open her to unending harassment.

 

I guess the Duke lacrosse team was guilty as well?! Along with Mitch Williams and Big Ben!? There is a history of GOLD BRICK women just trying to get money from these high profile athletes. We do know that!

 

eh, yes and no. that's the portion I sort of agree with that guy above on....no matter how much effort the woman puts into it, or puts herself out there....if it comes out to be untrue, she faces relatively no consequences..

Talk on the radio this morning was saying that the Dolphins were upset that the Ravens kept getting the score up. They should have "took it easy on them" after the big lead... Come on now.

No accuser ever does in any realm, generally. My point was that she opened herself up to far more scrutiny that she would otherwise by putting her name out there. It’s a bold move.

 

So he’s ‘guilty until proven innocent’... last I checked the constitution reads opposite.

 

The issue here is that you're assuming it's an either/or situation. It's not. Yes, there have been some women who have made false claims in hopes to score a big payday...but they couldn't make the claim if there wasn't something there. Then there are those who are savagely mistreated and the perpetrator walks free because of assumptions, fame, lack of evidence, or the lapse of the statute of limitations because of the fear and shame of coming forward within the legal prosecution window. Both situations are true and well documented fact, but one cannot be used to deny the other.

These cases are never binary. That's why due diligence in careful investigation is needed along side of understanding and compassion for both the victim and the accused. A thorough investigation will reveal more of the truth, and a court of law will be relied upon over the court of public opinion.

 

Just like targeting in college football. It’s the worst rule in the game.
