Is there a good way to run 3 monitors (HDMI or VGA connectors) with a 1050 TI and not have them all have the same desktop?
The 1050 TI has HDMI, DisplayPort, and DVI outputs, however from my experience and quick googling there’s an unfixed software issue that won’t allow you to run HDMI and DisplayPort outputs together, so I would have to split either the DisplayPort or DVI outputs.

I'm using HDMI and Displayport right now, so I'm assuming the issue you read about has been fixed.

Interesting, I’ll have to try it again, last time I tried everything when black and I had to unplug one of the outputs to get it back to normal.
I would say it could’ve been an issue with the adapter but the adapter works standalone so it should work the same with the HDMI input plugged in as well.

Not sure if it’s fixed (don’t have a second screen to test on since we’re in the process of moving) but currently upgrading to studio driver 431.70, my driver was extremely out of date, I never installed the GEForce Experience application to keep everything updated.

Yeah, not sure if it was drivers that caused that problem before or not, but right now I'm running a 1440p 144hz monitor off of Displayport and a 4k 60hz TV off of HDMI with my 1080ti and have no issues :)

I’m pretty confident it’s fixed, I may end up picking up a DisplayPort monitor to ditch the adapter, and also because I was just informed that “she” wants a TV in the master bedroom so I will lose a monitor from my planned setup (found 2 TV’s in the process of moving, was planning on switching from a 1 screen (sometimes 2 screen if I didn’t want to have the cable box on the large TV) setup to a 3 screen system.

Recommendations for a 26-32” monitor? Speakers preferred but not necessary, DVI or (preferably) DisplayPort input.
I don’t “need” faster than 60Hz refresh but not opposed to going faster, budget is about $300.

Edit: hmmm, this would work, and put the extra money into a sound bar type system.

The driver update fixed my 1050TI, currently outputting to 2 screens and got a DVI-hdmi cable to connect a 3rd one that I found laying around.

Do y’all have recommendations for a budget (under $100) upgrade for a CPU, MoBo, and Ram (RAM is not needed if DDR3).
My sister (preschool teacher) needs her hand me down PC upgraded so she can use it to print off lesson plans. It currently has a Intel Celeron (I think) and 3 GB of Ram, the poor thing doesn’t even have the power to create a new user account in windows 7.
I priced out an upgrade to Ryzen 3 for her but she can’t afford a $200 upgrade to her PC at the moment as she just bought a house that we’re fixing up.

That’s a tough budget limit. I would look up her existing motherboard and try to find a cheap used Chinese extracted i7/Xeon that can work with the existing board she has. Up that memory to as high as the motherboard allows for as well.

I jumped on ebay after posting that and have a $75 offer on a used I5 3570K with an MSI B75A-G43 MoBo, from the description it doesn’t have the heatsink so I’ll have to spend about $30 for a cooler, and I can get a single 8GB stick of DDR3 for $24.

It’ll be a little over her budget but PayPal Credit will help spread the cost and the CPU will work for several years and be such an upgrade, I have a WD 7200 RPM 1 TB HDD that I can format at put in it for mass storage as well.

If shes ok with a bit older of a system I can send her an older I3-540 , mobo, ram (ddr3), and a small (60gb? SSD). Have a power supply too if needed. Would just need a case. its currently in my Unraid server (the cpu and mobo) but going to swap it out with a I3-4170t and its mobo just for the lower power use

Thanks to @velillen donating most of a rig we got my sister rolling.
Once we got the MoBo I realized her old system was a mini ATX and ATX board wouldn’t physically fit in the old case.
Thankfully it was Labor Day weekend and Newegg had some sales so we picked up a coolermaster case for about $40, 8GB RAM for about $30 (I realized 4 just wouldn’t be enough to effectively run word or other office applications when win10 uses 2 GB by itself) and a 1TB barracuda drive for $40.
The case and HDD will keep her rolling for several updates and the ram was cheap enough to justify.
The small SSD that was included is perfect for quick boot and the 1TB drive is probably larger than she’ll use in 5 years (unless she goes crazy on steam).

It was the cheapest case that looked “OK” and her favorite color is blue, if she gets tired of it I’ll just replace the fan (or unplug it, the thing has 4 120MM fans in it)

Hey fellas, PC/Console Gamer and IT by trade. Built my first gaming PC about 4 years ago after a long time of waiting. Always have had the latest consoles over the years, but not so much lately. I currently have the xbox one and ps4 but not the 4k models, I've been sticking mostly to PC gaming. I hope to upgrade my Graphics card soon, looking at the GeForce RTX 2080. Haven’t been playing as much though as I have a 2 and 4 year old. So to say the least my gaming has slowed since they were born but I still get on from time to time.

    Current build :
    -Anker Tower
    -ASUS 144hz 27” gaming monitor
    -i7 3770k
    -Zalman CPU Heatsink
    -GeForce Gigabyte GTX 780ti
    -GeForce 3D glasses
    -ASUS sabertooth Z77 Mobo
    -RAM G Skill Ripjaws 32GB
    -Corsair 750W Platinum Power Supply
    -250GB Samsung 850 Evo (Boot)
    -2tb x2 WD Black HDD
-Added some extra fans w/ blue lights

This was in my office before my son took that bedroom lol. The above was when I had it set in my living room temporarily.

I remember when Zalman coolers were a thing. Now it’s hard to even buy a good air cooler. I find it’s either a full tower cooler now or AIO if you don’t want to run the stock cooler.

Yeah, same here. I think Noctua is the new Zalman. They do make a good low-profile air cooler. But as air coolers go, typically stock works OK if you can get it to fit.

My Corsair AIO put a bad taste in my mouth. Yes I understand like any product parts can go up but it wasn't that old. The pump failed. Corsair Customer Service was great though and they RMA'd it for me.
