I see it's an export bottle. Does it have the squared shoulders?

I might need to try to get you to ship me an export bottle someday ;).

It's kind of a poor description on my part, but some export bottles (might be EU only) have a different shape.

That's a big negative then on the squared shoulders

Never tried that one, had the 12 and the American Oak. I should revisit Auchentoshan now that I can appreciate it more.

no offense, but i find JD to be kind of like Pepsi in a room of small brewery sodas...

A lot of people like it, but i prefer the more unique stuff like Knob Creek or Kentucky Gentleman. Theres some local only ones in NYS that are amazing. I dont drink these days, but when i did, i always kept it over 140 proof. Because of that, i was pretty picky about good flavors!

I received the 10yr(?) as gift. IDK if it’s the rye or what, but the favor is just too out there / spicy. I’d finish it off and be done with it, but at something like $80 for 750ml its both too pricy to be “getting drunk” whiskey and too distasteful to be sipping whiskey.

So it’s just sitting in the liquor cabinet while I drink Ezra Brooks. Now that is a good whiskey. Sells for $25 a handle but well worth twice that.

Whistlepig 10 yr Rye is my favorite Rye so far. I'm no expert in the Rye department at all. I think I paid $60 for a 750.
