They aren’t the best tasting thats for sure. During an ultra I’m probably looking at more real food fuel options which is good.
Marathon road races I’m probably going to mix up my own stuff and carry it with me.

Don’t underestimate the simplicity and ease of sugar packets lol

My knee swelled up and bruised yesterday after my workout...

It was chest and back day...

Carbs don't make people gain weight - calories do. You aren't measuring / calculating correctly.

You can choose to not eat carbs, I just wanted to drop a little information about them. Many people eat low carb and operate just fine. If it works for you, it works :)

Fats are over 2.2x more calorie dense gram for gram than a carb or protein. Maybe it's not the carbs making you gain weight as much as you think :)

Carbs make me strong. Carbs make me happy. I always eat as many as my current goals allow.

No doubt! I know you know what you’re doing by far and know what you’re talking about but I just had to find what works for me and so far this has been good

I’m one of those where carbs made me feel groggy. I feel better without carbs.

    DILLY DILLY!

Also carbohydrates are some combination of a Carbon and a water molecule. CH2O. Carbo (carbon) hydrate (water).
Carbs cause water retention especially when being stored as glycogen. C6H10O5 (5 waters).

This is why carbs cause water gain and why the more mass you have the more water you need to drink to facilitate glycogen replenishment.

I too feel better with less water retention. Not that water retention is bad but it explains why up in carbs equals up in weight without talking about fat gain.

@Supra TT do you not have to diet as properly while on the juice? Honest juice talk as a guy has recently hit me up on IG trying to get me to goto the dark side. He was fat. Then cycled. And looks built. Does the juice just make your core muscles grow which gives you that tree trunk core or what?

This kind of discussion is why I stay sub'd to this thread. While my goals are very different than most on this thread (lifting, bulking, "swoling", counting calories seems to be the majority of the thread's direction :D), I do learn much about some of the science behind it and nutrition.

Always something to be learned, even if it's not from methods you fully practice or agree with.

Are you saying this person in this picture is on juice and also looks built? Looks to me like he just went from not flexing to flexing o_O

You don't need juice to look built and be in better shape. You need a better diet, and to hit the gym more than 3x per week...

Meh one side looks notably more fat than the other IMO. But I was just asking if juicing allows you to be more slack on your diet basically. Cause if you’re fat, is juicing even worth it? Shouldn’t you lean out first or do you just kinda do whatever you want?

Juice or no juice, if you have a shitty diet you're going to have shitty results. Like the guy in your post...

That’s basically what I was wondering lol. Like why spend the money on juice if you still don’t eat right enough to get gains from it properly ? Like it just doesn’t sound logical

I do metabolism research at a big university. Carbs don't make you gain water. The salt that is usually associated with carbs causes the water gain. The grogginess is hormonal, usually from a strong postprandial insulin surge. Its not to say that carbs shouldn't be avoided though, I am a fat fan and crab hater, just for other reasons. Low blood glucose and high blood amino acids at night results in a greater release of growth hormone when you sleep. This causes more lipolysis and more muscle growth (fat goes away and muscle increases). The less carbs, the more growth. Just make sure you go big on marcos in the AM to replenish. I argue that complex carbs in the morning are fine as long as they are actually complex. I personally prefer fats to improve my fat metabolic efficiency. I basically intermittent fast daily - no dinner. I do all my eating within a six hour period of time before 2pm. My one caveat is I chug a pure whey protein shake with no carbs or fats before bed, and I don't eat processes foods. Lots of steak, eggs, and greens though.
