If you have an actual fence though, that should slow her down enough she can't run through the electric one. Maybe won't feel like digging while getting zapped?

 

yeah I'm not necessarily looking for a solution, I was just venting about it. to me the best solution is get rid of her, because she's a risk and liability, and I don't care enough to spend a bunch of money to prevent that.

I do love her, and she's so sweet, but it's true that she doesn't feel like "my dog" in the same way Oscar and Leo do...

well I mean think about it this way...you'd spend a bunch of money to take care of your family right? but would you spend the same amount to take care of a stranger just because they're staying in your house?

I'd say 99% of people would say no to that.

lol I'm not saying I don't want her, what I WANT is for her to just stop getting out.

I took her in, and have done a ridiculous amount for her and spent a ton of money on her over the last nearly 3 years....

 

See if you got any friends that will take her in. Put an ad up in Craigslist, see if anyone is looking for an energetic dog!

 

I've asked friends before...and I can't do the craigslist thing and give her to someone I can't trust.

We'll probably just end up sticking her back inside and she'll have to deal with not being able to go to the bathroom for long periods of time.

It's hard to get rid of a dog that's over 11 years old, might shit inside, is an escape artist, and doesn't get along with other female dogs.

 

She's your special one, that requires a little more attention that's all. Wait til you have kids! You can't go giving them away! lol

haha yes, but I'll "have" the kids from birth. that's why she's different from Oscar and Leo to me. because I didn't get her and raise her, she's someone else's that I'm taking care of.

not to get too deep in a rabbit hole or start some stupid discussion, but it's the same reason I never dated a girl with a child from a previous relationship. I couldn't risk that, I couldn't lie and say 100% for sure it would be like having my own. maybe that makes sense, I'm sure someone will judge me for it.
