It’s the premium package that gives you auto-lights, not the TRD

I don’t know why the US didn’t just mandate DRLs along with Canada. Would be really helpful in heavy rain around town where like every 1/10 cars have zero lights on.

Because DRL are dumb and only help in certain situations. Certainly don’t need them in the middle of the day

and orange turn signals. I about rear ended a Tesla because of their tiny break lights and using the same light as a turn signal

Incorrect, or at least on certain trims. My 19 OR will leave the headlights on even once I leave and lock truck. I think I read in the manual that there's a timer and they shut off after x minutes (maybe 15 min? 30?). I don't recall if that timer can be adjusted. I'm used to auto headlights so still leave them, exit truck, walk away, then realize they still on, and have to go back in and turn off. One day I'll learn.

I have a 2017 base truck and the headlights will go off on their own after about 30 seconds or so.

My 19 trd or just has off-,drl-parking lamps-headlights. I don't have an auto position. This is prob just bc I don't have the premium package tho

The TRD Sports at my work have the premium package with the big screen and all that and the stalk is exactly like yours.

I keep mine on the “auto” mode. During the day, the DRLs are on and when dark, the lights come on. There is a setting in the head unit to turn on or off the DRLs while in the “auto” mode. You can also set the sensitivity of the sensor that decides if it’s dark enough for headlights.

I leave mine on DRL. Use the headlights when I need them. I would leave the headlights on but the truck yells at me to turn off the lights when getting out of the truck. It does turn off after 30s or double lock though.
