Right on I understand. I've been looking around for almost a year now. Everything I found that was inexpensive had bad reviews or super overpriced and didn't do want wanted. I was stoked when I came across this thread. The Dasaita had everything I was looking for at a reasonable price. Let's hope it delivers haha

I was drawn to this unit because of the way it’s integrated into the dash, more than anything. My OEM JBL radio has been struggling to stay illuminated and when it gets too hot, the screen just goes blank... I’ve wanted to put a touchscreen radio in my truck for years and at one point, I actually bought an OEM JBL unit from a 2013 but I never got around to installing it due to the complexity and the insane amount of parts I’d have to replace. And when it comes to aftermarket radios, I honestly can’t stand the cheap plastic dash kits, I think they look like absolute crap.

This unit fills the entire dash opening, without a dash kit, allows me to match the button colors to my dash lights (which means it’s OCD approved), adds CarPlay, adds music streaming, retains Bluetooth for phone calls and utilizes the steering wheel controls. These things alone have all but sold me on this unit. Not to mention the customizable wallpaper and launcher. For the price, it’s basically a no brainer. I just need to figure out a solution for SiriusXM and I’ll be placing an order!

So it looks like my only option for SiriusXM using this radio will be through streaming. I’m fine with that option but I’ll have to research my data usage and decide if I need to change my data plan. I’ve also been thinking about getting a mobile hotspot device to keep in the car, giving the radio (and my kid’s tablets) internet access whenever I’m in the truck.

Now it looks like my only obstacles will be the mounting bracket fitment issues and figuring out how to move the rear view camera down from the mirror to the radio. I’m going to purchase the car solutions front camera as well and I’d like to have both cameras viewable on the headunit.

If any of y'all drill out your stock radio brackets, can you post pics of drilling locations? I can't figure out a way to measure where to make the holes.

install the brackets to the truck first. slide the stereo in. then use a marker to match where the brackets will sit. then measure more or less for the holes to drill and bam good to go

How do you fit a marker back where the bracket is when you slide the unit in?

So I’ve been messaging with Iris on eBay about the headunit... she confirmed that the only way to get SiriusXM will be through streaming (I’m not surprised) but now she’s telling me I’m going to need a canbus adapter in order to use the headunit with my factory JBL amp. I mentioned the fitment concerns and she didn’t directly respond but is offering me the headunit for $430 and the canbus adapter is another $30. I was leaning towards purchasing the Seicane unit though, seeing as I’m going to be using CarPlay and my iPhone to stream music the majority of the time and don’t need the additional internal storage. I also don't really want to drop $500+ into a headunit right now.

I just purchased this unit from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Harfey-H2109...rfey+H2109L-L&qid=1568116412&s=gateway&sr=8-1.....seems to be similar to what you all are getting but a different brand name. I too got an email requesting a pic of my dash and year of truck and all. I’d be willing to bet its all from the same overseas company just branded different names. I wanted one that was carplay ready and supposedly I can get a carlinkit donggle for wireless carplay on this unit. Mine just shipped out this morning so I’ll be curious to see if any what fitment problems I have when I get it.

Found this USB connection if anyone is interested. They were extremely hard to find lol (for me at least) Just ordered a couple and I'm 99% sure they will work.

So they arrived. They do not fit the empty slots next to the cigarette lighter/12 volt inputs. They are made for the slots left of the steering wheel (ex. Fog/wd/tow). But on the positive side they do work really well. Might whip out the dremel and cut them to fit what I originally purchased them for.

this looks exactly like the seicane headunit. The wiring on the back is an exact match. I also heard harfey sells the same units as seicane

I thought that wheel looked different. Any changes needed to make it happen?

Has anyone bought the unit from Seicane linked in the original post? I was about to make my purchase but now I’m confused... the listing says that unit has a built in CarPlay module but when I go to add it to my cart it’s offering an external CarPlay module as an add on... I don’t need the additional internal storage as CarPlay is the feature I’ll be using the majority of the time with this unit so I was trying to save some money buying the Seicane unit versus the eBay unit.

The wheel is plug and play.

I have the seicane unit and it does have built in wired carplay. I also seen that you could buy the dongle, but it was not needed. I did end up buying the wireless dongle from ebay.

    Thank you!

And do you have a link to the wireless dongle? I’m curious how it looks.
